Great visit today my husband reported.
He said she was compassionate. She listened. She Ordered x-rays and blood work and told him done on the premise promptly and told him she'd call tomorrow. For 6 yrs he has been seeing primary, given prednisone and lacking the care he has needed. Seeing Dr. Wu today gave him hope for a more pain-free existence. We drove from Northampton MA in the pouring rain driving in the worst times to be on 290 AND we'd do it again. We believe she truly cares about her patients. Exhausted from previous Primary who basically did nothing to help him.

Great doctor
Dr. Wu and the staff are absolutely wonderful. She is so attentive and listens to make sure we've covered all of my concerns. She is also really great about following up on results, answering my questions, and explaining things. I have complete confidence in her care. I've referred other family and friends to her.

Horrible and dismissive
I had a negative experience with this doctor. She was dismissive and rude. She told me that nothing was wrong with me and 'didn't understand why I was referred to her.' I got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and a genetic disease months after seeing her with a high rheumatoid factor test and others. She needs training in bedside manner, compassion and empathy, along with ethics because you don't raise your voice to a patient because you're frustrated that you didn't have enough information from the referring doctor, especially when the patient is trying to figure out what's wrong and was sent to you by another doctor. I deserve respect even if the doctor is having a bad day. Just because she can't figure out what's wrong or tests aren't showing something immediately doesn't mean nothing is wrong and the patient deserves to be reprimanded with a raised voice about coming to see her. Even female doctors sometimes don’t take female patients seriously. Get a good rheum in Boston.

Awesome! Other reviewers are out of their minds.
Dr. Wu is a very attentive doctor. She really pays attention to both medical and personal details. She understands how one’s own life can be affected by this health issue, as well. Someone who remembers how many dogs you have, or their names (even if it’s in her notes, at least she took the time and effort) or what hobbies you have. That’s a caring doctor. If you want a bad/uncaring doctor on UMass Memorial staff I can give you a name. I may have reviewed the doctor, but Dr. Wu is an excellent rheumatologist.I recently had an issue with another doctor at UMass trying to my MRI read the other doctor. Dr. Wu knew what pain I was in, and what my mental state was. She stepped in to help resolve the issue. This is what a good doctor does. They put the patient first.

Patronizing
Does not listen. Minimizes issues and does not partner in your care at all. Go to someone else.

Horrible service horrible treatment
Was lied to over and over again by staff as I sat in the waiting room over an hour they didn’t even have the decency to tell me the truth that dr wu was overbooked they kept telling me 5 minutes, 5 minutes as all 7 patients who came in after me was being seen by dr wu, then they lied again and said she had emergency 5 minutes, then they said again oh the room is being set up 5 minutes I waited over an hour before I told them how unprofessional they were and dr wu didn’t even apologize, she is very condescending I would find another doctor if I were you.
