Dr. Pei Casas, MD

I went to see Dr. Casas because of a fast-spreading infection I was worried might get complicated. She ordered a test but did not interpret the results when they came in 2 days later. I had to interpret them myself--only to find out the antibiotics she'd prescribed me do NOTHING to help the fast-spreading infection I was dealing with. When I emailed Dr. Casas about my concern she curtly told me to keep taking the antibiotics she prescribed and that no additional treatment was necessary. I contacted another doctor who confirmed that these were the wrong antibiotics, and prescribed me the correct antibiotics. This leads me to believe Dr. Casas had not even thought to read my test results at all, and instead treated my worried email like a nuisance to brush off as quickly and easily as possible. I--and she (for legal reasons)--are fortunate that this infection did not become complicated in the days between my trying to contact her and my receiving the proper treatment.

Dr. Casas was my provider for about 3 years. In those 3 years I only had 1 in-person appointment with her. All of my other interactions with her were via email or the app chat. On one occasion; she addressed me by a different name that is not even remotely close to my first name. On another occasion, I emailed her with skin concerns and she immediately prescribed me some antibiotics. I emailed her back and asked if I could schedule an in-person or video appt before starting the antibiotics and she responded that I should start the antibiotics and then she blocked me from replying to her message. I ended up scheduling a video appointment with another doctor and he did not agree with her diagnosis and went with another treatment plan. Dr. Casas does not listen to her patients and she simply does not care. I immediately switched my primary doctor after this interaction with her today.

I recently switched to Dr. Casas when I started working from home. During my routine physical, she was super patient; really listened to my concerns; and took her time during my appt. I didn’t feel rushed at all. I highly recommend her.
