Best doctor
I’m a woman, and I’ve been seeing him for just about a year. Hands down the best doctor I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. I think he is hilarious, and really listens to me. I have endometriosis, as well as some mental health issues, and I feel genuinely heard by him. He is also the only doctor I’ve had who recommended I have genetic testing for certain cancers. He’s never tried to over medicate me, and I appreciate when he’s honest with me about certain things. I love that I can see him next day for really any issues. 10 years of dealing with bad doctors, who would gas light me about anything, to feeling very comfortable going into a doctors office, and his office staff, nurses and MAs are super sweet. Thank you Dr.Burkill.

I cried in the car on my way home
I went to a follow up appointment with Dr. Burkhill who, at the time, was my primary care physician after going to urgent care for a very painful period that I thought could be kidney stones. He didn’t do an examination or even take out his stethoscope. Instead gaslighted me the entire appt and then prescribed an anti depressant. I changed physicians-got an ultrasound and have started treatment for my endometriosis.

Look elsewhere
What stood out? How about we were 15 minutes into the visit before he realized he had the wrong patient chart! When I mention a relative of mine was at Harvard, instead of saying good for them, he went on about how overrated Harvard was (in his opinion), sounding like a sour grapes high school student. He finishes the visit by wanting me to discontinue a drug prescribed my my cardiologist and recommended I take a drug on my allergy list! Run away!

Women beware
Probably the worst doctor I've ever had. He was my primary doctor at GBMC and several times he didn't believe the symptoms I had. He also insisted on me putting on a gown during annual physicals to do a skin exam to check my moles even though he knew I had regular exams with a dermatologist. His annual exams came off creepy and after I found a new doctor, I've realized that this isn't normal procedure for annual exams.

It is rare to find a physician who will take time and listen to their patients. Dr. Burkill is kind, respectful, and I was surprised to find during my first follow up that he remembered our last visit so well. He and his nurse are also very good at returning phone calls or reaching out to a patient when needed. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends.

Dr. Burkill is a very young, smart and caring doctor. When I arrived to his office I already had a few bad experiences at JHU and other famous institutions here in Baltimore, so I was a bit too anxious when I entered the clinic. I can only say that its first time that a doctor actually takes time to listen. A few minutes later what others couldn't he could. He delivered an accurate diagnose right away. I am so happy I went to GBMC and that he was my appointed doctor.

Dr Burkill is an excellent Doctor. We are a military family so we are used to moving around the country and I would love to have this doctor as my family doctor in any city in the country. Takes his time, make sure he finds the real issue you maybe having your issue. Just all and all a good doctor who takes his time to get it right. Which to me is so important with care.
