Dr. Peter Gardner, MD

Dr Gardner is practicing as a hypnotherapist as well. ~$1700 and seven sessions have yielded no results. He sent me this in an email before the first session: "I'd like to record the session. You're anonymous, I don't refer to your last name, and it might only be used for teaching purposes." My reply was that I was not comfortable with my session being used for training purposes and I expected our sessions to remain strictly confidential. At our last session he related to me that he shared the contents of an email I had sent to him with a training he was doing. Not only did I feel as if he had violated my request for confidentiality, but I also felt humiliated when he explained that his trainees and guest speaker Dr. Yapko thought the contents of my email were "ridiculous." I still tried to continue since the investment I had already made was hefty, but only wanted to get more assurance from him that he would observe my confidentiality. His response was to stop treating me.

Dr. Gardner seemed very disinterested in me and I ended up having to see another GI. He is not very warm and does not make you feel comfortable as a patient. I would recommend seeing a different doctor that provides a more nurturing experience.
