Dr. Lu & me
Dr. Lu is very knowledgeable about Type 1 Diabetes. I have been with him for several years. He took the time to show me how to bolus on my pump in the Extended Mode. No one else had ever taught me that skill. NAED is a very busy practice. So I can understand why some people feel rushed. But if you have a list of questions when you visit, Dr. Lu answers every question.

I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and he has been less than helpful. Literally tell s me I am coming in just to get medicine. How about some knowledge! He spends about 5 mins with me after waiting an hour or more. If you go make sure to be the 1st or 2nd patient.

The staff is rude and can never get anyone on the phone. Everytime I come in its a minimum of a hour and a half wait. When Dr.Lu makes it in the room he looks at his computer the whole time and never makes eye contact. He can never give me a straight answer about my next step in treatment. His Johns creek location is shared with a children's doctor office. So you are sharing a waiting room with sick kids. At least the music is good in the waiting room.

I was unable to get the 21 year old thyroid cancer pathology report from the hospital. Even though I recently underwent full body scans, neck ultrasound, and thyroglobulin testing, he repeatedly referred back to the missing pathology report. When my thyroglobulin reports came back with abnormal numbers, his response was "if I had the pathology report, you may not have to do the radiation treatment." I felt like I was being punished with radiation for not having the 21 year old pathology report.

i knew i had paperwork to fill out and so i went at 915am for a 945am appt....and didnt get seen until 11am! The nurse was rude and I think the dr. Lu forgot about me. And when he did show up, it was only because I decided to go out to the bathroom in the hall with my 3 yr old and he magically appeared from his office. And now 2 weeks later no one has called me about my bloodwork... and I cant get anyone on the phone.

I am unemployed and a staff member recommended me for a Patient Assistance Program with Novo Nordisk. After receiving a four month shipment from Novo Nordisk, they are asking Dr. Lu to write a prescription but he nor his nursing staff are willing to do so. They are making false statements concerning the requirements for the program (which Novo Nordisk is verifying are false) and refuse to write a prescription. They said that an office visit is required which I am not financially able to do.
