Knowledgeable, informative and caring
I’ve been dealing with colon cancer almost 5 years. I had a major setback over the weekend and had to go to the local ER where Dr. Nuttleman was the attending physician. My regular oncologists are three hours away and being a weekend were not immediately available. Although Dr. Nuttleman did not have to do any surgery on me, he spend an unbelievable amount of time with me reviewing my entire 5 years of care with me. He asked me many questions no one had ever asked before and informed me of a few different scenarios of the causes of my sudden changes in my symptoms. Although I just spent the night at the hospital for observation, he visited me at least three times and we had discussions that were at least an hour long each. He checked and rechecked my MRI as the answers I gave him peaked his curiosity on something that needed more scrutiny on the image. No doctor has ever spent this much time with me. I found him very caring, compassionate and knowledgeable.

I only saw him once in Ashtabula Ohio . He was absolutely thorough in his explanation of my health issues and the possible surgery to come.....unfortunately he left the area and wasn't able to perform my surgery. BUT, without his expertise in explaining every detail to me , I don't believe I would have ever seen the inside of my organs or learned of the irregular placement of them hence surgery. Other physicians here only give you 15 min. of their time , NO more. Dr Nuttleman generously spent over an hour with me not missing any informative detail.....having said that, he is the reason I felt safe having the surgery !!!

In 2015, Dr. Nuttleman, performed laparoscopic mesh surgery on my abdomen, had six hernias to be repaired. Every one of them is back where (it) belongs, excellent outcome.

He removed my gallbladder. He was amazing. At first they didnt know what was wrong with me. I had about 7 major test before my file landed on his desk. He promised he would help me and he did. He listened to everything I was going through. He did the right tests and removed my gallbladder. I'm truly thankful for him, I dont know how much more I could have taken.

My husband recently had gallbladder surgery. His condition was originally misdiagnosed, so when we came to see Dr. Nuttleman, my husband already had developed an infection as well. Dr. Nuttleman's bedside manner, his professionalism, his sincere interest in my husbands care, he truly was a saving grace. We cannot thank him enough for all he did, for watching over him, answering questions and describing procedure without making us feel we were another number in the system. May God bless you.

Dr. Nuttleman performed a Laparoscopic Colon Resection for me last fall. I found him to be an excellent surgeon who always takes the time to answer any questions that me or my family has, both before and after surgery. I never felt rushed or that a concern was unimportant to him. He is not only a skilled professional but also is extremely compassionate about his patients. What a fine representative of the medical community and Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital he is!

this is one doctor who puts the patients needs 1st. Dr. Nuttleman doesn't let the politics of hospitals get in the way of providing excellent care to his patient. He does not give up when the care plan gets complicated. All doctors and surgeons could take a page from his book. I trusted him with my care and believe me it was not an easy case. you cannot go wrong with this surgeon. THANK YOU Dr. Nuttleman...Feb 2014 case.

In May, 2015 Dr. Nuttleman performed an appendectomy on me. He explained everything in detail before the surgery and spent time with me afterwards to let me know what to expect for a recovery. I had a relatively pain-free, quick recovery with no infections or complications.

He's one of the best docs out there. Saved my life during an emergency surgery. Great short term follow up care, as well as, in the long run. He's a great surgeon. Highly intelligent and very compassionate. It's hard to come by doctors like this. He's a keeper! ;0)
