Dr. Peter Ramsey, MD

I do believe that Dr. Ramsey is a good orthopedic surgeon, and probably most of his patients have a positive outcome. Unfortunately, I am one who did not. My knee was replaced over a year ago by him and it is “much” worse than before the replacement. Dr. Ramsey has not wanted to find out why, and has tried to say that it is a nerve issue or spine issue which is not. Even the physical therapist at OrthoSC said to me, “Did he try to push the problem onto someone else?” Yes he did. My knee replacement went well until Post-op 3 months, and has not been right since then. So I live with a left knee that is so much worse than before until I can go back up north to my orthopedic surgeon who hopefully can help me. I will say that Dr. Ramsey is personable and doesn’t rush you which could be why it can be and hour and half wait for your appointment with him.Update OrthoSC commented on this post and said that they wanted to speak with me. I do believe Dr. Ramsey is a good orthopedic surgeon, however, if there are issues with your knee replacement he doesn’t want to hear it or really do anything to find out what is wrong. Even a physical therapist at OrthoSC said regard Dr. Ramsey, “Did he try and push it onto someone else?”. And yes he did. My knee is 100% worse than before my surgery. My knee replacement was good up until 3 months when I got a rash around my knee and over a year now it is awful. He just doesn’t want to address it. Will be going back up north in CT to get my knee evaluated. Frustrating!

Dr Ramsey performed a complete hip replacement on my right side. Minimal pain I was walking without a walker or cane in two weeks. I feel so much better. No one can believe how straight I am standing and how quickly the recovery has been. Dr Ramsey is the best. He is an amazing surgeon.

Very personable, not - at least apparently - in a rush as are most physicians. Procedure and process well-explained. Recovery was excellent.

Knee replacement surgery with Dr. Ramsey could not have gone better. From the first time I met Dr Ramsey and his great staff til now 4 weeks after surgery, they have treated me with respect and care. I highly recommend him for any orthopedic needs you might have.

I chose Dr. Ramsey because I had been hearing rave reviews from friends for years, and witnessed how much easier their recovery was. Dr. Ramsey did a great job on my knee replacement as well. He and his team listened to and addressed all of my concerns. I was walking the same day, and my progress is actually ahead of schedule. I highly recommend him.

Dr Ramsey is an excellent and compassionate doctor. He listens to his patients and does all he can to get his patient’s needs met. He performed surgeries on both of my knees 2 yrs apart and did an excellent work with both of them. He is the best as his patients that I talked to told me before I went to him for care.

Dr. Ramsey is personable and clearly answered all questions and concerns. This is my second hip replacement surgery with him and he is a great surgeon. My recovery was quick, I was able to walk 1 mile within 5 days. My recovery was so fast that people were amazed at my progress, especially individuals who had recent replacement surgery.

Dr. Ramsey was very informative, reassuring and honest about what would be involved with my total knee replacement. The office staff was very professional and courteous with making appointments as well. Very nice and pleasant environment.

Went to him in 2022 about hip pain. I ask him how will I know it needs to be fixed he said you will know. That made me comfortable. He spends time with you, tells you all your options. Today practices are so rushed and have more of a conveyor belt feel. I never felt that way with Dr. Ramsey. When I couldn't sleep anymore and was in constant pain I knew what he meant. Not to mention the Carolina bone and joint center in Carolina forest is also superior. Works like a well oiled machine. The staff are the best. Thank you Dr Ramsey. 3 weeks post op now.

Strives to improve patient experience through their feedback, following known best practices. His staff is top notch and I believe they truly feel appreciated! Resulting in a caring uplifting interaction with patients and overlapping care providers needed to accomplish my procedure of a total knee replacement from surgery through recovery and rehabilitation.

Dr Ramsey has done total knee replacements on both of my knees, one in Dec 22 and the other in May 23. I could not be happier with Dr Ramsey and the entire ORTHO SC staff. Dr Ramsey is very caring and thorough. He and his staff are always available for questions and are very good at communicating instructions both before and after surgery in an effort to provide the best possible outcome for the patient. I highly recommend Dr Ramsey.

Dr Ramsey explains the procedure thoroughly and spends as much time as you need to answer all your questions (and alleviate any fears). After total knee replacement I have healed much quicker than I expected and the pain is going away quickly. The doctor did a great job of minimizing scarring too. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr. Ramsey & I will get the other knee done as soon as allowed. FIVE STARS !!

Wonderful experience every time. Dr. Ramsey did a hip and total knee replacement on me and I couldn't be happier with his service. Great bedside mannors, takes the time to listen and explain everything he is going to do. He is very compassionate, kind and always smiling. The BEST!
