Dr. Peter Sheesley, DO

Dr didn't seem interested in finding out why medical issues were getting worse. Felt a lot of issues were being dismissed. New Doc notified specialists that they need to work as a team, understood & made several recommendations because family member is going thru same health issues.

I went in for a simple new patient consultation and was met with relentless pushing of the COVID vaccine by him! His fear-mongering was too much and wokeness was a turn-off. I left full of anxiety and furious. Didn't even stop at the check-out counter! No respect for patient's feelings or opinions. Six doctors in my family....I know the difference between good and bad.....he was bad. Shame on you St. Luke's in Boise. BTW.....I don't think there's any more room on his arms for tattoos.

If you need a referral to a specialist good luck. Nice & all but denies requests for additional testing.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Sheesley for about 4 years now. My previous doctor had to retire because of medical issues. She told me that Dr. Sheesley was very nice, but I was still apprehensive about that first visit. He really is the best. He cares so much about his patients. I have never come across a St. Luke’s doctor that didn’t care. Dr. Sheesley however goes above and beyond. I usually read all of my after visit info and I’ve never seen anything that was derogatory. He’s always straight forward and tells it like it is. I hope he stays in Boise and with St. Luke’s for a really long time.

Dr. Sheesley took care of my husband for the last year. He had a challenge in dealing with liver disease, cancer, testicular cancer and end of life care. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about his care, concern, compassion, and being totally frank with his end of life suggestions. No one could pick a better doctor to help them with their internal medicine issues than Dr. Peter Sheesley. We thank you, and your nurse Tessa (equally a beautiful caring individual), from the bottom of our hearts.

I highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and genuinely is very caring and concerned about your care. He spends time explaining your personal medical concerns so you can easily understand them and he is very quick and efficient in getting you back to your optimal health. I and my family love him.

Dr. Sheesley is a very knowledgeable and warm provider. He listens to you and includes you in any decision making. He is never rushed and does a very good job of keeping on time so your time in the waiting room is minimal. As a retired RN, I appreciate all of these qualities and recommend him highly. His medical assistant is also very personal and professional. I’m extremely satisfied with his practice.

After the first-ever visit with this doctor, we obtained a copy of the visit notes that he put in the Saint Luke’s medical records system. We have NEVER SEEN so many errors in a medical document! Our concern was that many of the things written would taint how a physician, having read this document, might view and treat the patient in the future. We then spoke with this doctor on the phone. He explained away/justified himself and stated that he would not remove or change the incorrect, misleading statements he put in the record. Then he said he’d now add to the official record that we had spoken about this ... to explain himself ... we’re now concerned about what other falsehoods might next be in the record. At one point in the call, the doctor, with suspicion, asked just how we’d obtained a copy of his notes.
