No time to actually solve the problem.
Nice guy, but this is the worst-run office I've ever seen. You wait on hold for ten minutes to be yelled at by a rude person. You can't email. And the doc is too busy to actually consider the problem and figure out what's going on. Quicker and easier for him to just push some pills --- which have terrible side effects, but oh well. Next!

Lack of follow through
I understand the challenges healthcare providers face, and I acknowledge Dr. Weinstein's expertise in performing colonoscopies and endoscopies. However, based on my experience and that of others that I read in feedback comments, it appears there is a gap in post-procedure support and care when symptoms continue. His assessment that my issues were 'normal' left me puzzled, as it contradicted the drastic changes I had experienced since my prior visits. He had a dismissive attitude and told me I should focus on my mental health as a suggested solution.

Most Dismissive Provider
Dr. Weinstein was the most dismissive provider I have ever visited. I came to him for an urgent appointment experiencing a post-operative GI complication ongoing a month. Dr. Weinstein paid no attention to my GI symptoms and attempting to resolve such, instead jumping to preconceived notions about myself and my lifestyle. I had to correct him multiple times which he was not receptive to and proceeded with judgment. Dr. Weinstein interrupted me consistently, was not attentive, and evidently, passed judgment. He indicated as well that he 'does not treat ileus', yet I was referred to him and his 'expertise' for such an issue! I have never left a negative review for a healthcare professional before but the manner in which I was treated is far from professional. I will not be following up with this provider and encourage everyone to seek care with a provider besides him. Extremely disappointed.

This is SO wrong!
I was a patient of Dr. Koenigs at Western Mass Gastroenterology for years until he retired. I was then randomly assigned to Dr. Weinstein. Wasn't impressed at our first meeting; I told him about some concerns I had and he dismissed them. Then I had a follow-up upper endoscopy done which Dr. Koenigs had recommended. Afterwards when I asked Dr Weinstein about the reason Dr. Koenigs had recommended the follow-up, he was surprised and said he didn't realize I had that diagnosis. He obviously had never reviewed my chart prior to the procedure. I just called to make an appointment about the concerns I spoke to him last year about since they have worsened, but asked to see Dr. Sampson instead and was told that I cannot switch doctors within the practice. Guess I'm going to have to go elsewhere after over 10 years of being with this practice. I am outraged!

As per the Review dated May 4 2017. He does not listen, he is not knowledgeable. The results are disastrous! He did not listen to my sister for months! Made assumptions without the benefit of tests related to cancer screening my sister begged him for. She is now wiht stage Four Cancer. This could have been prevented had Dr. Weinstein listened and not made assumptions.

He is neither knowledgeable nor personable. He does not listen to what I am saying. He has yet to read my file prior to an appointment and I have had to correct him on each visit. I would not recommend him.
