Bi-lateral full knee replacements June 27, 2007
Dr. Clifford was very clear in explaining it would not be a easy recovery from bi-lateral full knee replacements at the same time on June 27, 2007. Surgery went well, spent a week in boot camp rehab and 6 weeks of at home rehab 3 times a day, with regular weekly PT rehab at the Speciality Hospital. By the middle of August, 2007 I was beginning to have good motion and use of both of my legs. In July, 2008, my wife and I took a trip to the Middle East and we both climb to the top of Mt. Sinai, of course I was 56 at the time. Now I am 72 and so far, I have had minimal knee issues, praise God. Thank you Dr. Clifford in how you have used your gifts & skills from God and have truly Blessed my quality of life. I wished you were back in North Carolina.

You Can Stop Looking. This Is Your Doctor!!!
I was 53 and on a walker barely able to walk when I met Dr Clifford. From the minute I came into the office I knew I was in the right place. The staff was very nice and efficient. I was not rushed out the door or told I weighed to much to have surgery. Dr Clifford replaced both of my hips within 2 weeks of each other and I was walking without a cane in 3 weeks. I had surgery at the Legacy Surgery Center and went home same day. The staff at the surgery center knew what they were doing. Everyone was so kind to me. Dr Clifford has changed my life!

EASY HIP REPLACEMENT
I was surprised at the easy scheduling, replacement and recovery. Dr. Clifford explained all that was involved in the surgery and recovery. He was extremely thorough. The surgery was performed at an outpatient surgery center. I went in at 7:30 and walked out at 11:30. I am so grateful to have had my hip replaced. I can begin living y life again without pain.

Best orthopod in Tampa
had an excellent experience having a knee replacement. I was denied by other surgeons due to potential high risk of complications. Dr. Clifford personally spent a great deal of time educating me about post op care. I sailed through the surgery without pain or any complications. I am a retired RN with orthopedic experience. I also had a previous hip replacement. Dr. Clifford is the cream of the crop. I would recommend him to anyone without reservation. I went into the center at 11 AM and was home at 7PM walking with a walker with no pain.

He WOW-ed me!
Many accolades for this one-of-a-kind man. Highly knowledgeable, personable, gentle, informative, and charming. Clearly, his talents also include choosing an amazing staff, that work in concert with him, and each other. I left his office feeling confident that I chose the right physician to evaluate my condition. Surgery is not required, at least right now, but should I require it, he's my man!

Dr. Philip Clifford completed a revision total knee replacement for my wife, and we couldn’t ask for a better surgeon. If you are looking for an excellent orthopedic surgeon, or even a second opinion, then please visit Dr. Clifford. We visited two other surgeons about a revision surgery before seeing Dr. Clifford and immediately he stood out. Of all the surgeons we visited, Dr. Clifford took the most time with us, spending nearly one hour explaining what he saw and the best course of action. While many doctors gave a general diagnosis or provided vaguely worded answers to our questions, only Dr. Clifford went through all the X-ray and MRI images explaining step by step what was wrong. For example, he showed us where arthritis still remained in my wife’s knee and explained how to see it in an X-ray, and why the partial knee implant did not fix the problem. No other surgeon did this.

My aunt 86 who suffered for years in pain because she was afraid to have surgery but after meeting Dr Clifford and his team she felt at ease and safe choosing Dr Clifford and Mattie Collier PA to perform her knee replacement. She is happy she did it and is considering doing the other knee sooner then she thought she’s so happy she choose this team.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Dr. Clifford was very compassionate, addressed my concerns, explained everything in great detail for my hip replacement, and his staff is amazing as well. One day post surgery and I’m walking and stretching without any assistance. Could not be happier.

Failed to recover from hip replacement although I was healthy and fit before the operation April 3, 2018. Dr. Clifford was charming and persuasive and did mention the chance of unfavorable outcome but stressed that they had a lot of success with this type of surgery. After the pain was unrelenting and I had side effects from the drugs for all of April. Physical therapy was aggressive and sometimes seemed to do more harm than good. I didn’t see Dr. Clifford again until the six week check up. Unable to tolerate any weight bearing, the hip and leg were tight with spasms and cramps. Finally I was referred to Duke based on MRI data and it was determined that the acetabulum was fractured and a revision operation was mandated. I called Dr. Clifford’s office to report this new X-ray and he had a member of his team call back to say there was no evidence of fracture in xrays taken at Emerge Ortho. A couple of months later I received a form letter saying that Dr. Clifford is moving to Florida.

I found Dr Clifford after going through 3 failed knee surgeries with a previous surgeon in a 10 month period. So much damage was done he was concerned about they repair. I needed a 3rd knee replaced and a second patellar tendon repair, challenging to say the least. Dr Clifford did my surgery on April 23rd, he did an amazing job and you would never know the same incision that was left in horrendous condition could have been repaired to the level that he did. I highly recommend him, hes worth it.

I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Phillip Clifford to anyone in need of a hip replacement! He did the surgery on my right hip three years ago and I was back at work (in high heels) within three weeks. In office visits, from diagnosis through follow-up, he was wonderfully informative, respectful and personable. Always felt like we were on the same team! He’s doing the surgery for my left hip next month and if I ever grow a third hip that needs to be replaced, I’ll have him do that one too!

Really personable and very much a hands on doctor. He is very good about explaining what is going on, what needs to be done (with options expained as well), and his surgical skills are very good. I had 2 arthroscopoc surgeries as well as total knee replacement. Would not want to go to any other doctor for my knees for sure. Dr. Clifford is always so upbeat and willing to take his time with you. When he us with you, he is focused on you and not his last patient or the one to follow you.
