He has a terrible reputation.
Read his Google reviews. The 5 stars are fake because there are so many one stars, and he is so obsessive that he actually argues with them. Paragraphs and paragraphs of him, lecturing an unsatisfied patient who is leaving an honest review. And yes, he actually does refuse to see people and send them letters over it if they question him about their diagnosis. I have one of them myself. Went in one time, asked him about one of the graphs, he couldn't explain it, insulted me, then kicked me out and charged me anyway. I think he's on drugs or has an unaddressed mental health issue. I'd feel bad for him if he wasn't so hateful to people.

Great doctor, surgeon
Concise and to the point, covers all bases. Surgery was exactly as he explained and expected. Answered all of my questions. He and his staff are excellent and treated me very well. I did not really want to go through the surgery but his professionalism, experience and knowledge convinced me to proceed. Dr. Scolaro puts his patient first and does not have any other agenda but that, his patient. Thank you Dr. Scolaro, High Plains Surgery and his nursing and office staff.

Gave bad information in a callous way!
After getting a CT and physical exam he told my brother over the phone that his tumor was an aggressive cancer that was inoperative on his carotid artery and that his colleague agreed with him. He had not even done a biopsy! And this could of been done in office. My brother thought he was going to die and soon. And to tell him this over the phone! He was making his final arrangements.Thank God he went in to see a doctor at Texas Tech, Dr. Cordero. He took a biopsy the first visit. He was back in the office in a week where in person he told him that it was cancer but he could get it out. A week later they removed it. He got all of it! Radiation will be done to ensure it is doesn't come back.It wasn't even on the carotid artery! It was in his tonsil. I would not recommend Dr. Scolaro to anyone!

He's a great physician! He has taken care of my entire family. Office staff is also great. Wait time is to be expected as there are very limited ENT's in Lubbock so many patients have to receive care.

Dr. Scolaro is fine, but I found his staff to be awful. They blatantly disregarded a specific request I made in terms of notification of test results thus I have no confidence in the entire practice.
