If I could give ZERO stars, I would. After 23 years, I haven’t had many good experiences with neurologists. After 2yrs w/, with Dr.Sofat, she has a “know it all attitude” like she’s God & knows what you are going to say. She is quick to condescendingly or W/ sarcasm . I was a diagnosis. I felt she made a conclusion about what I needed & my concerns seemingly didn’t matter. Sound familiar? Dr Sofat might as well wear a flashing neon sign that says I don’t care because I am all knowing. She minimizes concerns showing little regard for you. She actually said “do you think we have magic pills for every thing? Another specialist prescribed the medication I hoped to get for neurological related pain she suggested was a magic pill. She actually rudely laughed when I misspoke. I was embarrassed. That was the end of my relationship with her. I never went back. Avoid this woman. I don’t have a neurologist now but I still get my medications. She’s not worth the effort of scheduling.

Find a different neurologist
I brought my special needs adult child to see this doctor due to progressive neurological symptoms. Dr Sofat was rude, dismissive, and ridiculing. It was absolutely incredible. She informed me she would not refer us to genetics, she would not order any tests. She conducted your typical neurological exam such as finger to nose, and so on. She pronounced my daughter healthy despite the severe hypermobility in her fingers and hands, and a very pronounced essential tremor. She informed us she would not need to see my daughter again. It was complete waste of time to see this “doctor.” We left feeling extremely discouraged. I have had nothing but great experiences with other medical professionals at UBMD. Dr. Sofat is not in the right profession.

A Doctor to Avoid at All Cost: Dr. Pooja Sofat.
Dr. Pooja Sofat represents everything that is wrong with the medical profession. She is rude and dismissive and is only interested in talking, not listening. She seems to have disdain for the patient, and only wants to tell you how things are. She does this, without even bothering to listening to all of a patients health issues or symptoms. We waited months to meet with her, and it was truly an awful experience. We very much wanted her help, but once we started asking questions and asking for explanations, she basically stood up and opened the door and said we were done. If you have an easy issue, or you like to be treated horribly, Dr. Pooja Sofat is for you. But, if you have anything more than a stubbed toe and you don't want a doctor that treats you horribly, avoid Dr. Pooja Sofat like the plague.

Experience with Dr. Sofat's office staff was upsetting. The person I dealt with should not be in the health care field. Absolutely did not care what I had to say. We are driving 3 hours to come to office and was not willing at all to discuss accommodating an appointment to coincide with another appointment in the area. She refused to work with me on this. I requested that she speak to the doctor and ask if she would be willing to work with me but she refused.

Didn't really want to listen to me explaining my problems. Kept telling me to listen to her. Had recent MRI and she ignored me. She said she had info from 2017 and tried to show me pix that did not show anything I had on my MRI. Tested reflexes sticking pin hard into my skin. I said "ow". Didn't stop and offered no apology. Must have had a bad day. So did I. Disappointed.
