Dismissive
Explained all of my very embarrassing symptoms I have had for years in grave detail and was invalidated. He touched my stomach and because I wasn't experiencing active symptoms he said my stomach didn't seem to hurt so I seemed to be ok. Mind you I was getting sick 50% of the time after eating. I clearly wasn't going to eat and be sick as I wouldn't have been able to attend my appointment as I would have been locked into a bathroom. For someone dealing with such personal embarrassing issues I was shocked to see how little bedside manner he had. I don't know many people who would lie about such embarrassing, life-impacting digestive issues like he made me feel.

Watch out
Did not seem to hear what I was saying and did not realize how poorly he was communicating. He missed the diagnosis, and seemed eager to get me off the phone. He may be smart but he is missing the 'art' of doctoring.

I had a colonoscopy done with Dr. Perera at University Gastroenterology on River St in Providence. Dr. Perera met with me both before and after the procedure and answered all of my questions. He was professional and knowledgable. The nursing staff was excellent. Highly recommend!
