Dr. Prashant Sukharamwala, MD

Dr. Sukharamwala did Wipple surgery on me on 3 Feb 2022. From our first meeting he was absolutely focused on my well-being. He is the most accessible doctor I've ever dealt with. Answers all my questions promptly. I'm back to normal activities -- medical people see my energy and condition and ask "are you sure you had whipple? you look so good." Unfortunately facing chemo to preclude recurrence of pancreatic cancer. Dr. Sukharamwala is gentle and caring, but also honest -- won't paint a rosy picture to make you feel better. So lucky I was referred to him.

Dr Prashant Sukharamwala described my condition, surgery, and probable outcome with extreme knowledge, understanding, and kindness. He presented an easy to understand visual hand out of my hepatic cyst and internal organs. He was able to schedule my surgery during covid restrictions. I don't believe I could have waited weeks for the restrictions to be lifted. Other issues were repaired/addressed during surgery. I would recommend Dr Sukharamwala and give him 100 stars if I could!

Last June 18th I had the Whipple Surgery due to my pancreatic cancer. Malignant turmor blocking the bile duct to my liver. thank God I got jandice and they saw a mass in my pancreas . My primary care physician Dr. Tarak Choksi immediately called Dr. Prashant Sukharamwala who had me in x-ray the next day. He called and told me that they saw a malignant turmor in my pancreas. I asked him if I was going to die? He said he did not think so. We set up a meeting at his office with my family present and he gave us his opinion! Everything went exactly the way he said! Out of the hospital in 6 days, home doing gardening my first day home. No pain at all and you can hardly see the incision! 6 months of Chemo was a little rough, diarrhea, and neuropathy, no hair loss, or nausea. I am now cancer free. I don't know how I would have made it without this wonderful man and great surgeon. He was there for me and saved my life, returned all calls and made me feel very cared for. So humble!

The first time I met Dr Sukharamwala was in the ER at St. Joseph when my pancreas blew up. He was wonderful right off the bat. He was trying to schedule follow up appointments, and I told him I couldn't, because I didn't have the insurance at that time. He told me not to worry about the money, let's just worry about getting you better. Here I am, 12 months later, and today he removed my drainage bag and told me I was on the mend. I can't praise him enough

Dr. Prashant is amazing. He definitely provided quality of care. Fixed a surgery that was AWFUL from another surgery. He promised a cleaned up incision in my abdomen and to fix the incisional hernia that occurred because of a previous hernia surgery that occurred just 6 months ago. Kudos, to his patience, information and a fantastic surgical experience!! I don't think I will ever return to my previous docs after being at St. Joes South and Baycare!

Dr Prashant sets the bar high and exceeds all expectations! His overall GI knowledge, calm demeanor and concise explanations is a refreshing delight in the world of medicine! He exhausts all conservative possibilities before heading the patient to surgery (in my Moms case). Lastly, he has surrounded himself with pleasant professionals on both his Medical and Front Office team!

This man saved my life literally. He is one of the most amazing Dr I have ever met. He takes the time to speak with you and explain everything. And he will move Heaven and Earth to save your life. My family and myself thank God that he was my Dr. Because without him I would not have had a future. And the staff is just outstanding caring attentive. He performed a Whipple procedure on me. The outcome has far exceeded my expectations I am back to normal in 20 days. And I am cancer-free.

This is the doctor you need to go to in your time of need. He is absolutely excellent in his communication skills and compassion. He is wonderfully gifted, and I would recommend him above all others. :)

Dr. Sukharamwala is a wonderful surgeon who operated on me and gave me a new lease on life. He made a very stressful time in my life go smoothly and calm.
