had a c scan done. was told everything is ok never got a copy. while at my primary physician for something completely unrelated. he saw that there was an abnormality in the report and I should call Dr Abitbol and ask questions about it. I called office and was told by kathy that they dont give out any information over the phone and I would have to make an appointment to speak to the doctor, which I did. When I stated to ask question, Dr Abitbol got very defensive and told me my colonoscopy did not show any abnormalies and that is what he is going by which is more inclusive. I asked him why he couldn't just tell me that over the phone instead of wasting his and my time and told me to confer with another doctor and stormed out of the door, which I thought was very unprofessional.

Great experience
The office is clean, laid out well and all of the staff were efficient and over the top helpful. Dr Abitbol and his Nurse Practitioner, Liz were , courteous, professional and identified the problem. I felt confident I was getting good advice and would highly recommend his office to anyone.

I was referred to Dr. Abitbol from my primary care doctor for elevated liver enzymes. He straight up told me to stop eating so much, to “eat more soup annd close my mouth” and that he “doesn’t believe in weight loss surgery” because it’s a mental thing. I never once mentioned my weight or weight loss. Doesn’t really listen to you and comes off as very arrogant. I will not be back.

Dr. Abitbol is one of the best doctors I’ve ever been to. His listening and diagnostic skills are unparalleled in my experience and I’ve recommended him to my family and close friends and have never heard anything but excellent feedback. His staff is also so wonderful and we’ve never had anything but excellent experiences with making appointments or any billing issues. Both my wife and I highly recommend Dr. Abitbol for gastroenterologist care.

The first time, he was very nice. A year later, his nurse calls and says he needs me to have another appointment. A YEAR LATER??? Anyway, he insisted I needed another colonoscopy. Again, nothing wrong but the doctor was practically evil and my throat hurt for weeks.

In lurch without a GI physician due to timing constraints can be an issue! After spending 4 days at my favorite hospital thankfully, but still not feeling right 3 days later had to find, call, and get appointment immediately or maybe re-admit to hospital...Dr Abitbol first was able to commit only to the extremely capable NP Elizabeth P. appointment as soon as I could get there!! After waiting merely 20 minute door to comfy couch, to good afternoon Dr.Abitbol, he had seemed to have reviewed recent hospitalization prior. Quite remarkable as a that day-new patient, albeit recently discharged BRRH, the record retrieval was outstanding, further helping the doctor help me! Diagnosis allowed me to achieve 20% better, with the first dose; and not spiraling back down whatsoever.24 hours later I remain on an upward rise physically! Thank you for everything I’m not certain where I would be sleeping, even though I recommend Boca Regional...

Dr Abitbol and his NP are fabulous, and often outweigh the lack of performance and substandard service provided by their front office staff. That doesn't mean it's not incredibly challenging to work with their receptionist. She is rude and has a bad attitude. They don't answer their phones in a timely manner, they don't call back as promised, they don't have any sense or urgency. My daughter has been having severe gall bladder issues for several months - it is affecting her quality of life and work life. They didn't even call her to give her the test results - we had to call multiple times to get a call back. The assistant that schedules tests has great intentions and is incredibly sweet but also not good at calling back and followup.

Just left Dr. Abitbol's office without seeing the doctor. The appointment was made a month before, for 1:30pm. When I arrived I was told that there were three patients who had a 1:30pm appointment. Have to admit that I never heard of anything like that. That meant that if I was taken third, and the other patients took at the very minimum fifteen minutes with the doctor, I might have to wait 45 minutes before seeing him. I immediately canceled my appointment. Even if he is the best doctor in America, I will never see him. This is not the way to run a doctor's office.

I saw this doctor in 2014 for a second opinion. I had been diagnosed with Gastroparesis. I told him I had been suffering for a long time and that I felt it could be a misdiagnosis and wanted my gallbladder checked. He told me there was nothing wrong with me and referred me to a psychiatrist. He didn’t even listen to me or bother with me. They overcharged my copay and it took forever to get them to refund me the difference and they were so rude about it. Hey guess what?! It WAS my gallbladder which I had removed and ever since then I have been so healthy! I gained much needed weight and was finally out of pain. My gallbladder was FULL of stones and had been that way for a very long time. This jerk wouldn’t even listen to me or order an ultrasound. That’s all he has to do. Do not go to him! Gallstones are so easy to diagnose!! I think he is the one who needs a psychiatrist!

I saw an ARNP before seeing the doctor. Elizabeth Perdomo, ARNP and the nurse on staff are amazing and truly wonderful!! Truly took the time to get to know me and explain everything. After the ARNP, the doctor came in and basically interrogated me. He was the exact opposite of his office staff. Thankfully I did not need a follow-up appt or I would've gone somewhere else. Also, I was in the ER Wednesday night, was told to call the office Thurs morning, and they couldn't get me in until Monday!
