Worst in my life!
I was stuck with Dr. Tanko as my orthopedic doc when I went to the HCA Ocala Hospital with multiple fractures from being run over by a golf cart. I have no idea yet re whether he did a good job when operating on my fractured pelvis. But I can tell you that his follow-up was the WORST EVER! He spent more time cracking jokes than focusing on my recovery. I ended up firing him.

Did not take into account my full function
1. He did not want to listen to questions. Literally told me in was only allowed 4or 5 and I'd have to make another appointment. 2. I told him how active I was, he used a surgical approach that was 12 inch long incision and cut muscles and nerves , sacrificing my mobility and leg strength.3. This large incision was from the 1980s. My husband had a very similar procedure by a different surgeon and his incision is 3.5 inches long. And no muscle deficits. Both were total hip replacements, hubby for severe arthritis, mine for arthritis and a stress fx in femur head and neck.4. He repeatedly said I 'would love him' 2 months after surgery. It has been 9 months and I still have difficulties.5. Bragged he is the one who fixes other surgeons failed replacements. I am afraid mine is going to need to be redone, but it won't be him.

Thanks Doctor for your care
I took my mother with a broken arm to see the doctor. He provided good advise about how to improve her overall health and daily routine. We appreciate his patience and care .

Dr. Tanko acts as a Independent Medical Exam doctor. He misdiagnosed and underestimated my auto accident injuries, thus cutting off my benefits way before recovery. Patient beware.

Worst experience I've ever had, rude, disrespectful, and I felt like he had almost no clue what he was doing, and now my hands borderline disabled for life because he couldn't give me proper treatment for the severity of my injury. And didnt account for ligaments and tendons in my body when operating on my broken bones.Just the most down right amateur hypocritical surgeon I have ever encountered. Anon. Out!

He was very professional and helpful when I broke my foot. His treatment plan was not drastic and seemed to always be in my best interest.
