Dr. Radha Ram is the best! I had been struggling with strabismus (lazy eye) since I was a child and as I got older, it got worse and much harder to live with. Everything from driving to reading to going down stairs required so much mental energy and eye strain. For years, I have had doctors say there was nothing I could do to fix it. I couldn’t accept that I would have to live like this for the rest of my life. Thankfully, I found a doctor who referred me to Dr. Radha Ram.  In Dr. Ram, I finally found someone who understood me and the daily experience of living with strabismus. Dr. Ram answered all of my questions and listened attentively to my concerns. Getting this surgery was the best decision I have ever made! It was life-changing, and it only took about 45 minutes and a couple of days of bed rest. If you’re struggling with strabismus, definitely do not hesitate to visit Dr. Ram and her team!

Strabismus Surgery
I underwent Strabismus surgery with Dr. Ram 1 year ago in May of 2023. I am blind in my right eye from an accident when I was 10 and over the years my eye had become lazy (exotropia). A condition which made me extremely self-conscious and affected my quality of life. I saw Dr. Ram for a consultation beforehand and she was extremely nice and thorough in answering all the questions and concerns I had. The day of surgery could not have gone any smoother. From her care to everyone involved at Bailey Surgery center. Everyone involved that day was so nice, professional and competent. I wanted to wait a year after my surgery to write my review. My eye is aligned in the place it should be and I have had no complications this past year. If you are looking for an Ophthalmologist who specializes in Strabismus Surgery in Austin or Central Texas, look no further than Dr. Ram. She is exceptional. A special thank you to her as well for helping change my life.

I'm so glad we found Dr. Ram! She recently performed eye muscle surgery on my daughter and I couldn't be more pleased with her professionalism and level of care. Dr. Ram explained very clearly what we could expect before, during, and after the procedure.

The appointment was fine. When the bill came, we were shocked. My daughter has seen several opthamologists in Austin. Usually a new patient appointment runs $130. We were charged $637 for a new patient appointment, our insurance discounted it down to $389. This is still exorbitant and absurd, so I would recommend going to her unless you find out how much it will be beforehand.

I am an active 65 year old male and was referred to Dr. Ram for my double vision. Dr. Ram was very professional, easy to talk to and took the time to examine my eyes and explain my options in detail. After my consult, she recommended Strabismus surgery. I trusted Dr. Ram's recommendation and I choose to have the surgery. The surgery corrected my double vision and I no longer wear prism glasses. I would highly recommend Dr. Ram and her staff to anyone with this problem.

I had a gradual increase in the amount of prism in my eyeglasses for about 15 years. I had a sudden change in my vision that left me with crossed eyes. I thought I'd have to live with an eye patch for driving the rest of my life. Dr. Ram made correcting my crossed vision look easy. There was very little discomfort or pain, and follow-up care was fantastic!

Dr. Ram is wonderful. I had strabismus surgery in April after putting off the surgery for several years. Dr. Ram made me feel extremely comfortable about the surgery. The surgery center was fantastic. I had to go back in to surgery a couple of days later to make an adjustment, and all went fabulously well. Dr. Ram was kind and accessible by phone. She even met me at the office on a Saturday to make sure all was okay with some eye pain I was experiencing. I could not recommend her more.

Dr. Ram is a wonderful, and patient Dr. I am battling Graves, due to my thyroid. It has effected my eyes, and she was able to fix the muscles that move your eye, with just a quick surgery. I was amazed that after just a week after surgery, I no longer had double vision. This surgery was amazing. Dr Ram and her staff are amazing and caring people.

My four year old is a patient of Dr. Ram. She is a true pleasure. She accommodated my son and helped guide me through the process of new glasses for my baby boy. He first saw her at age three, and she has us hooked on her for life. I trust my child's eyesight to Dr. Ram. I highly recommend her for yourself or your own children.

I had a strabismus in my right eye. Dr. Ram recommended surgery, carefully explained why, what the procedure entailed, what I would experience afterwards in terms of benefits and discomfort. I was nervous about it so went back to see her with my husband and again she patiently explained everything. For me,the surgery was incidental. I had very little pain afterwards and needed nothing more than Tylenol. I was amazed at the results--no more double vision, no more head-tilting.

Dr. Ram helped us navigate some scary waters with our infant daughter and pointed us in the right direction with a referral to a great baby doc in Houston whom she had worked with prior for further testing. We followed up with her today and luckily all is well but her attention to our needs and bedside manner with two scared new parents was such a comfort.
