Dr. Rafael Moncayo, MD

Dr Moncayo is an excellent physician and diagnostician. He listens to his patients and is never rushed. The front office is pleasant and courteous. His staff is also courteous and helpful. Angela Leslie, NP is very thorough, knowledgable, and caring.

My primary doctor retired and was concerned about finding a doctor to replace him. Dr. Moncayo has been a great caring replacement. Never makes me feel rushed and answers all my concerns. Dr. Moncayo makes sure that I'm up to date on all my medical needs. When I first started going to his office, I was not happy with the front office. That has changed. Every need I have is met in a timely courteous fashion. I highly recommend Dr. Moncayo!

Nice physicians horrid front office

The physicians are very kind! Unfortunately as patients we have no choice but to have much more dealings with the front office than our physician. Hands down the worst front office staff ! They lack basic knowledge, uncaring, unprofessional

I was 18 minutes early but his staff informed that the Dr. said he wants new patients there 30 minutes early and they refused see me. I drove about an hour out of way it would have took me no longer than 5 minutes to fill out the paper work but he did not give me a chance to. This doctor is rude!!!!

When we moved here, my son had been in the hospital for 2 weeks while living in another state. I searched Healthgrades until I found someone that I felt satisfied with in treating my son for his condition. I took him in to Dr.Moncayo and he knew more than I ever expected. My son really liked him and how he treats him as an individual., he’s 17. Now my husband and I are going to him.

Dr. Moncayo seems to be a good Dr. The problem is his office staff. As a new patient, all of the things I disclosed as PAST medical issues were listed as current issues, which really screwed me up for health insurance cost. My height was listed at 5'7", and I am 5'10". My weight on the chart was also incorrect, resulting in a "obese" comment. It then took over 6 weeks and three personal trips to the office to even get my records released to write life insurance. When I went there this morning, I was informed that I had cancelled my appointment, which I had not. This has happened several times in a row. Their system may be overlapping another Memorial Herman location I go to for my knees. This is the most incompetent office I have ever dealt with, anywhere. As of today I am looking for another primary care physician. Dr. Moncayo may be a fine Dr, but the office staff at the 1463 location is so incompetent that they cant even schedule an appointment, much less keep accurate records.

I love dr. moncayo because he treats you as if hes known you forever I aiways feel comfortable and not rush. I was having pain in my right knee he gave me a shot and the pain went away for over a month I have copd high blood pressure diabetes its all under control thanks to Dr. Moncayo.He is also my primary doctor.

Always give his time and answers questions. Try’s to help u work through things. If he doesn’t have an answer he’ll send you to doctor who does. Always kind

Dr. Moncayo and everyone in his office (specially Sheila ) are amazing. They are not your typical medical office. They take you in an you become a priority to them. They answer all your questions, take their time with your concerns, go above and beyond to make you feel important and well taken care of. They are THE family medicne offixe for you and your loved ones. You will not regret it. Thank you for everything guys!

Very impersonal!! Indecisive after giving symptoms!! Pompous attitude!! Ordered a lab after my initial visit that cost me over $1,100 out-of-pocket. Did not call me to give me results and recommendations - I got a call from a nice lady at Memorial that they decided to give me some expensive equipment without explanation. Terrible process!!

Dr. M imparted a strong sense of empathy with me during our short time together. He explained the procedures and outlined the expectations well. But this is all a moot point since he is leaving in a week or so, right? Therefore, one star is realistic.
