i wouldn't recommend this guy; unless you enjoy passive aggressive, narcissistic know-it-all old men! he's regularly 30 - 45+ minutes late getting there. he would take cellular phone calls DURING my appointment & he'd laugh & joke on 'em, but i could tell they weren't necessary calls. then there's the conference calls he'd be on for sometimes over an hour, while the waiting room would get filled up & people complained. he was very arrogant & rude w/me, ESPECIALLY during my last appointment & i had been going to him for a long time. he never wanted to listen or hear anything i needed to tell him - prolly b/c he must know everything already! (sike!) it was bad though, i mean, seriously it was like he thought he was superior to me or better than me. i just couldn't understand why he was so miserable & mean all the time.

Terrible psychiatrist. He was nothing more than a medical pez dispenser for me for a few months. During my last appointment to which he discharged me, he proceeded to tell me I was lying about a side effect of a medication. The man is rude, and not open to his patients being a part of their own treatment. He is definitely not trustworthy, has no bedside manners and more importantly doesn't work with his patients! He didn't care and it really showed - Save yourself time, and go elsewhere. I've since moved on the AHN and am finally getting the care I need.

he generally runs about an hour late. after being a patient of his for 7+ years, he began yelling at me @ my last appointment, telling me i was & HAVE BEEN "privileged," & that he didn't care about me OR any of his patients. when i began to speak he told me i was being too loud & asked me if i wished for him to "call police." i was like, "you're the one yelling" & he responded: "IT'S MY OFFICE" & proceeded to discharge me b/c he was in a bad mood (as usual) & decided to take it out on me. something was seriously wrong w/him that day tho b/c he seemed more angry than ever & irrationally arrogant. he thinks he's better than other people too; like, he's very judgemental. he treated me inferior so many x's - for example, like taking cell phone calls during my appointments, ALWAYS shutting me down when i try to speak & even going as far as to hold up his finger in front of his mouth to try to shut me up as if i'm a child- he's just not what one would expect

Our first appointment was cancelled just a few hours in advance as the Dr was in India. (I think they knew before that day that he was out of the country). The second appt we arrived early for our 10:45 appt to find another patient with a 10;15 appt still waiting. We were told the Dr still had not arrived for the day and that he was always late.

I have been seeing Dr. Nigam for about two years now, and he is the best Psychiatrist I have ever seen. He takes the time to listen to what I need to say, and he is very respectful. If I have an emergency, and I need to come into the office they always make time for me.

Dr. Nigam is very knowledgeable. He will listen to your concerns & will not overprescribe medication, unlike other doctors I had before, who throw a 7 different medications at you. He is prompt, and I trust his decisions with my psych care. He will work with you in order to ensure you can maintain your emotional/mental health. I like his straight-forward approach. I've been treated by him for a few months, and while he is not for the overly thin-skinned, he is competent & helpful.

I am disappointed with this dr, he was difficult to understand and disagreed with everything that I said. He made me feel insignificant and like a drug seeker. I was on medications for 3 years, before seeing him, I finally felt better. I feel that he is too quick to give a textbook diagnosis and tried to manipulate the conversation, by asking me if I had symptoms of depression, yet didn't ask me a single question for the diagnosis that he questioned. Since I wouldn't agree, he refused to see me.

Because he threw me out of his office and refuses to continue my treatment because I asked about the amount of medication i was on. Very conceded and arrogant.
