I was pinned between 2 cars in a wreck that left me with 12 broken bones, 8 of them in my neck. No doctor in my state could help me. A friend, who I knew from working Law Enforcement, lives about 30 miles south of Asheville. She found Dr. Loomis for me. He repaired 7 broken bones in my neck and upper thorax. My C5 vertebra had been crushed into powder from the impact. Dr. Loomis not only saved me from being a quadraplegic, but he also took time to explain the impact my injuries would have on my lifestyle and sat with me showing, me how to drive and do several other everyday necessities to allow me to continue my hectic life. I was extremely active until the wreck. Now I was facing months of PT and Rehab. His staff gave me the knowledge to help me recover when I returned home. You don't have enough stars to list the expertise and caring he showed while I was his patient. Above and Beyond the Call of Duty definitely describe this wonderful man. Thank you for making a positive difference in so many lives, including mine. God bless.

Feb. 2011. I specifically asked for Dr. Loomis. Dr. Loomis did my surgery for Spinal Stenosis. He is the best of the best and I wouldn't let anyone else touch my spine. The spinal cord was closed off to 4 mm, I had a heart condition and had recently had a quadruple bypass. Everything went perfect. Thank you Dr. Loomis from so long ago

Astute diagnostician. Experienced. Knowledgeable. Excellent communicator. Efficient and parsimonious with clinical time. Exam was focused. History was taken quickly but not hurriedly. Explanations were brief, clear, and without extraneous distraction. Responded to questions thoroughly and clearly

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Loomis?
Dr. Loomis saw me and quickly dismissed me. Despite having neurological history at a previous hospital, with an excellent doctor who recommended surgery at a future date, as well as the recommendation of surgery by my current neurologist, Dr. Loomis quickly reviewed my current MRI only and didn't request imaging of the intial MRI with abnormalities and disease to try to see what my initial neurologist had concerns over. Completely without compassion, I was told my pain would never resolve.

I was born with a denerative back. Dr. Loomis has been my Dr. for many years. He always gives me options when I am having back pain. He performed an L3/L4 fusion recently which took care of my pain. He talks with me and my wife with compassion and understanding. I would not want any other spine surgeon but him.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Loomis?
Dr Loomis did an extensive spinal fusion on my back in early January 2007. I got MRSA from that surgery and had to have my back opened back up two more times to clean it out. Since then I have had nothing but horrible pain which has greatly impacted the quality of my life. I can barely walk. Just a short way and then I have to sit down. I've been to many doctors and tried everything. Unfortunately now the only way I can get relief is with Norco medication. Stay away from this doctor.

not a pleasant experience. The man was degrading and condescending, not only to me but to my wife as well. It was clear he was not going to do anything to help me recover from my injury.
