Over-charged and Poor Bedside Manners
My young adult son saw Dr. Juha for a skin lesion, which he confirmed as a lipoma. He spent way less than 15 minutes with my son and basically just felt the skin. He was staring at his phone for most of the visit while talking . To his credit, he did explain the treatment options clearly. He billed for a 45 minute visit (CPT Code 99204). This is for a healthy young many with no medical history, so he cannot event chalk up the time to review of the medical history.

I had inguinal hernias on both my left and right side. I made an appointment with Princeton Surgical Associates where Dr. Juha practices. I was impressed that, unlike in almost every other medical office, there was very little wait to see the doctor (he showed up within 5 minutes of my scheduled appointment time). He diagnosed both hernias and explained what they were and potential risks (of not surgically addressing them; mine were quite small and it wasn't imperative to fix them immediately) and how the surgery would fix the issue. Dr. Juha is a teaching surgeon and had a young medical student in tow during my examination. Impressed with his thoroughness and punctuality, I scheduled my surgery for the very next week. In pre-op, Dr. Juha displayed the same professional demeanor and punctuality. Everything went very well and recovery was surprisingly fast (I was walking normally again within 2.5 days) and exactly as he described. He was pleased with everything in my exam a couple of weeks later. Dr. Juha is a superb surgeon and I'm extremely happy to have had my hernias taken care of by him and the outstanding team with him in the OR.

Typical Surgeon Bedside Manner
I have no idea how Dr. Juha is technically as a surgeon since fortunately I did not end up needing surgery. But if you want a doctor who talks to you - not your guy. If you want a doctor who explains how it will feel to have a probe inserted into your rectum before doing it, not your guy. If you want the stereotype of a surgeon who does not see a person and has the bedside manner to go with that ... this is your guy.

My experience with Dr. Juha and his assistant was great. I had minor surgery on my temple near my ear. I hardly felt the needle go in (less painful than having novocain at the dentist) and the incision site after surgery was closed wonderfully. I experienced minimal pain at the incision site after the surgery. I'm not a doctor, but Dr. Juha's credentials looked very impressive to me.

Wonderful visit. Dr. Juha is a pleasant person and shows interest in his patient. He explains procedures and is willing to answer any questions you may have. Dr. Juha is a clean surgeon, magnificent work , in my case it was as if no surgery was even done in the area. After a few days I felt completely like myself and as if I had no surgery at all. Minimal discomfort after surgery, a very accomplished and professional surgeon.

Dr. Juha performed surgery for my adult son to remove an extremely large cyst attached to his spleen. From our initial consultation through surgery and follow up we were very pleased with the quality and care provided by Dr. Juha. He answered all of our questions, explained the procedure and help calm our fears. Overall a very good experience.

I am suffering from agonizing chronic orchialgia (testicular pain) following double inguinal hernia surgery performed by Dr. Juha. Many peer-reviewed papers point to severe and chronic testicular pain after inguinal hernia repair, induced by too-tight closure of either the deep or superficial inguinal ring during repair. No other physician can find another explanation. Dr. Juha's response was to go find a pain management specialist.

Went to Princeton hospital with acute pain in gallbladder and was provided with fast attentive good care till final diagnosis in three days. I think it was good advise to go home with drain fixed and come back as outpatient to remove gall bladder. Dr. Juha patiently explained about surgery. Trust finally it will end in successful conclusion.

I was admitted to the hospital with extreme pain, due to gallstones. Dr. Juha and his residents were assigned to my care. Many hours after getting NO information from the staff, Dr. Juha and his residents came into my room and told me I had three options. 1. Have my gallbladder removed 2. Drain the gallbladder 3. Wait a month and have it done then. I opted for option number 1. Dr. Juha refused. I then went to option 2. He refused. No, he said. You should go home and have the procedure done then.
