Dr. Randall Lengeling, MD

Dr. Lengeling rushes through appointments, doesn’t read charts or referrals, and is dismissive of symptoms. I have several serious (and proven) medical conditions including Gastroparesis, hiatal hernia and ulcers. He treated me as if I am a hyoerchondriac and seemed to have disdain toward me because I’m overweight. He said if I lost weight, I’d be cured. He did not do a physical exam nor did he take the recommendation from 2 other doctors that I need an upper endoscopy based on symptoms and images from a CT scan. He just looked at me and said I looked healthy and dismissed everything else. Extremely upset with him. His nurse is rude as well.

Went in for issues had for a while. Sat there all but 5 mins, no questions asked about what was going on, rushed right out and told I looked healthy and that was it. Wouldn’t even BOTHER to help figure out an issue had for quite some time that my Dr referred me to them for. Now I get to pay for a WASTED visit and nothing done to help or figure out what is going on. This is the type of doctor that gives Dubuque doctors bad names and the ones Iowa City doctors just shake their heads and say they’ve heard horror stories about them because they won’t take the time to figure out what’s going on. And you have to go to a BETTER doctor that actually CARES.

Counting the earlier bariums, this was my eighth procedure. Because of chemical sensitivity, I am not sedated. We Irish do not feel discomfort like the more advanced races of people, anyway. I thought Dr. Lengeling was skilled in plying the scope and he had a good team. he had a

Extremely poor follow up and communications. A "let's wait and see what happens" method of healthcare without any actual further examination or testing. Extremely arrogant. Asks patient a question about their condition and then answers the question with what he wants to hear.
