Compassionate and caring
What stood out to my wife and I was the fact that from being greeted at the front desk to speaking with all of Dr. Roy's staff, everyone was pleasant to deal with, listened to our questions and concerns and explained the procedure completely. Our interactions with Dr. Roy were beyond expectation. He was very attentive, listening to our issued then explaining things in our terms. He never gave us the impression that he was better than we were because he is who he is. Dr. Roy is very humble and dedicated to helping his patients get all of the information they need to make informed decisions. We knew that surgery was going to be the only real option for relief but understood that we had to follow the insurance steps to make sure all bases were covered. Dr. Roy's staff were very helpful to make sure appointments were arranged at times when was convenient for us. The whole team was great to work with from start, through surgery to the after care. Well done Team. Highly recommend.

Dr Roy is THE BEST!!!
From the start, Dr Roy's calming, soothing nature put me at ease. He is very patient, Takes time to answer all your questions. He was very flexible in scheduling me around some vacation plans. My surgery went well. I was up and walking the same day with NO pain! My recovery has continued well, and six weeks later, I am still pain free and ready to get moving again. His office staff is welcoming and friendly and always there for questions and help. I would definitely recommend him for any treatment involving the spine.

Compassionate and Capable
Dr. Ranjan Roy , Rhonda Elliott and the fine staff at Piedmont Neurosurgery and Spine are simply the best! Very determined to identify the source of my lower back pain, which is complex, and perform the necessary surgeries to alleviate it. I simply could not ask for a more capable and compassionate surgeon or support team! A+++ rating! Frank S. Lexington, NC

Rude Behavior of Office Staff
Dr. Roy performed a major surgery on my back in 2008, and they were very nice to me at the time. But.... Today, their office refused to see me this morning because I have an "open WC Case" The worker's comp company has not approved nor denied my case but they are not paying for anything, so I was instructed by my attorney to have things filed on my insurance and that we would mediate to try to get repayment of services. I am in constant pain from the injury and was hoping that Dr. Roy could perform his magic on my back again to help me, but I was treated with total disrespect and rudeness!!! I took the day off of work for this appointment and at no time was told that the WC issue would cause any complications. I am so disappointed in how they treated me and doubt if I would ever go back to his office even when the claim gets closed!

At our family care office we asked for a doctor that could help my husbands back problem. Without missing a beat the answer was Dr. Ranjan Roy. At the first appointment we were comfortable. Dr .Roy listened . He ordered an MRI and took the time to show us the results. He said be believed he could help. But wanted us to think about it and let him know if we decided to proceed. My husband did have the surgery. Dr Roy came to waiting room to let me know what was happening. 24 hours later we were home again. 6 weeks later my husband is pain free and walking like a young man again. He is 71 years old . Dr Roy was working ON my husbands back and working FROM HIS HEART. this man cares about his patients. The doctors whole team is superb. Nothing negative at all from this

Dr Roy performed my back surgery. I had six screws and two rods put in my lumbar spine (L2-L4). Dr Roy was very good about explaining ahead of time what he was going to be doing. Everything went very well. I followed the restrictions I had after the surgery and at the 3 month point, I was able to lose the back brace. Everything about the whole process has gone smoothly, there have been no surprises and my constant pain is gone. I would highly recommend Dr Roy if you need back surgery. If I ever have issues with another part of my back or my neck, I will definitely go back to Dr Roy.

Over 20 years ago Dr. Roy operated on my husband, removing 2 cervical discs. We did not know him, or anything about him, but we knew immediately my husband was in exceptional hands. As an RN, I see surgeons as Master Mechanics. They run the diagnostics and have the skills to fix the problem but Dr. Roy takes this to another level. His focus is not only on fixing the problem at hand, he educates you on what to anticipate from you body in the future and how to better care for it. When my husbands back pain became intolerable this year, there was no discussion about who he wanted to do the surgery. It was Dr. Roy or no one. As before, surgery went perfectly. My husband holds himself. erect as he has no leg or back pain, and with this improvement, his need for chronic pain medication has lessened. It is not only Dr. Roy's exceptional surgical skill that impresses us, it is Dr. Roy, the person, honest, forthright, caring and committed to each person in his care. We are blessed to have him

Dr. Roy is very personable and down-to-earth. He takes a lot of time with his patients to explain things. We had heard about his great reputation and we were not disappointed. He performed my father's major back surgery and he is highly skilled. After making the incision and seeing a better look, he even ended up doing a less invasive surgery. We highly recommend him. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable too.

After suffering a herniated disc with nerve compression on the right side, Dr Ranjan Roy and his staff came highly recommended from family and friends. He was very thorough, compassionate, took his time and made sure he answered all my questions. He tells it "like it is" and I appreciated that. I absolutely will return to Dr. Ranjan Roy should the need arise and HIGHLY RECOMMEND him!!!

Dr. Roy did a lower-back disc procedure for me, and I am thrilled with his work and his compassion. He is not an "operate-first" surgeon and will operate only when surgery is truly required to meet the patient's need. He "tells it like it is," while at the same time being very concerned about the patient's overall well being. He's not only a good doctor; he's also a good man. I recommend him enthusiastically and would have absolutely no hesitation about his operating on me again if that should h

Dr. Roy explains his findings in terms you can understand. He is honest and forthcoming with what needs to be done. He explores every possible treatment for you before making the decision to perform surgery. I had been in excruciating pain for four months before I was referred to Dr. Roy. Surgery was my only option, with the problems I had. Dr. Roy scheduled my procedure as quickly as he could. I have been pain free since then, with no problems, and am returning to work after six weeks.

Dr. Roy IS the best. He takes his time with each of his patients, and he SEE us as people, not numbers. He did my back surgery on Friday Feb.2, 2018 and did an excellent job. He came to see me everyday with a good report, a bright shining smile and a story or joke. Dr. RoY has a positive attitude and is soft spoken. He explains every procedure in detail and answers all questions. Dr. Roy is very kind with family members too.
