I felt he was too proud to converseWas rude (mean).Didn't listen or answer questions.Didn't explain conditions bc he was in a rush and didn't seem to care. Staff wasn't friendly.I cannot believe the positive reviews about him unless maybe he was in a terribly unpleasant mood that week. I went from terminally ill to transplant survivor thanks to another doctor at another hospital...the transfer was my blessing.

He was absolutely horrible

My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis having never been an alcohol drinker. Dr Syed was the most patient doctor we have ever been seen by. He took the time to explain my husband's condition in depth and explained that his next step would be being placed on the transplant list. After numerous test, thankfully my husband was approved for a liver transplant. We were sad to learn that once he was approved for transplant my husband was changed to another doctor. My husband received his transplant in Jan of 2024 and after a 4 month recovery, he is back to work full time!! Had Dr Syed not be so optimistic, my husband might have just given up and thought he was dealt a death sentence. Thank You Dr Syed!! You will be greatly missed by your patients at Tampa General.

Dr. Syed was the first doctor to give me hope w/cirrhosis. 2 other Dr’s , I felt, had written me off as a cirrhotic. Not only did Dr. Syed make me feel hopeful if I did my part, but so hopeful that I could in fact have a normal life again. I was diagnosed w/HCC a year after cirrhosis and thought it was really a death sentence. Now having to battle w/cancer. Thankfully it was one singular tumor treated successfully with ablation. 2 transplant evaluations later and 1 ablation I’m cancer free with the same liver and perfect bloodwork living my best life.When you almost lose your life, sometimes a little bit of hope is all you need. Thank You for that Dr. Syed. I would recommend you to ANY person on this earth. Pete

Dr Syed is one of the most caring specialist that one can see. He always has his ear tuned to listen to your questions and always answers them in a caring and thorough manner. You never feel rushed. One of the best providers I have ever been lucky to call my Doctor.

Dr. Syed is the kind of doctor I would wish for a loved one dealing with serious illness. He is professional yet friendly, and highly knowledgeable without any of the condescension one sometimes encounters with doctors. He is thorough, seems genuinely interested in listening to and answering your questions and does not make you feel rushed. I would recommend him to anyone with a liver disease.

Dr. Syed is very personable and took his time in evaluating me and reviewing some of my medical history. However, I was disappointed in that he didn't do testing, etc. since he didn't agree with PBC diagnosis (autoimmune disease) from my gastroenterologist, who referred me to Dr. Syed. So I am left with no definitive diagnosis of why I have stage 4 cirrohsis of unknown cause.

Dr. Syed is a great doctor. He is very knowledgeable and listens to the patients concerns. He explained my situation and answered all questions and really took his time.
