Chances
Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to have a visit with Dr. Guevara. It seems as though Dr. Guevara's practice standard is to not be understanding that in life circumstances arise that may just not allow a person to be able to show for an appointment and while I work in the medical field and have for 25 years and know the inconvenience of a no call no show having a potential patient do this once is in my experience not that inconveniencing, repeated behavior of this yes but not once and if a patient has to cancel and reschedule that does not in my experience negate dismissing a potential patient from your practice. I guess though when you're a neuro specialist you can discard patients like garbage. I have read previous reviews and perhaps I have dodged a bullet. I will pray for this provider that he will gain the empathy required to be an actual reputable physician, bedside manner and practice standards go a long way with potential patients not just reputation.

No Way!
I saw him for a few months and honestly thought my life was going to end my was going to end. He did every test possible but couldn't figure out what was wrong. So he put me on a medication that gave me bad seizures and I ended up in the hospital for a couple weeks. I will NEVER recommend him!!

Doctor or Giant Baby??????
I would be able to look past awful bedside manners, interrupting, not listening, etc. if a doctor would do something to actually HELP me. I saw Dr Guevara for a few months where he did a bunch of tests and did have an idea about what was causing me chronic pain. But then he told me my symptoms weren't bad enough to test for the condition or try any sort of medications to control it, instead wait 2 months and see if it gets worse. During those 2 months I sought a SECOND OPINION from another doctor who actually did treat me. I showed up for my follow up after 2 months (stupid me) and the very first thing I told him was that I got a second opinion from a different doctor and am on a new medication now. He ended the appointment immediately without discussing the results of my eye testing, walked me out, and very condescendingly told me he "hopes my new doctor can help me". His ego couldn't handle a patient seeking a SECOND OPINION after telling them to wait and see if their pain worsens.

I would recommend Dr. Guevara; I am an 81-year-old woman with a complex medical history with multiple comorbidities. Initially, I found his approach unique. He is very focused on obtaining information from you with very specific questions. I soon realized he was looking for information that he did not have from other records and had a laser approach to getting those essential facts. With the additional facts, he gathered from my history, Dr. Guevara was able to offer me answers to my questions, which he allowed ample time for. I feel quite certain that I am in good hands with him and will obtain relief regarding some issues and hope regarding others. My ophthalmologist referred me to him and I am grateful.

I was hesitant about seeing Dr. Guevara due to some of the comments. I had an absolute opposite experience. I found him to be very thorough and attentive. After the physical exam he answered all of my questions. I also found him to be very personable. Some of these negative comments may reflect on the patient attitude.

I could overlook the terrible bedside manner, tendency to cut off the conversation and constant "sniffing," staring at the computer and speeding through the exam. What ended it for me was the new and changing information with each visit - meds for 6 months, no, a year and finally, the rest of my life. Did a second sleep study elsewhere - NO sleep apnea. He was quick to saddle me with a CPAP machine for the rest of my life based on his "borderline" sleep study. RUN - or get second opinion!

Dr. Guevara is all about figuring out what ails you. He could listen more after he's done with the interview. That's where he could definitely improve. Still, this man has done nothing but good for me. He has successfully treated my psuedotumor cerebri for years and also diagnosed a muscular issue I have. His treatment has been very good. I appreciate him even though he's not the most friendly doctor. I trust him.

Dr. Raul Guevara is very thorough and kind. I appreciated his respect for my time and during time spent with him, he was very much about the reason you were there. He is not interested in spending time hearing your life history unless it pertains to your issue and that is not a bad thing because he is totally focused on your medical problems and finding a cause and solution. He is very knowledgeable about all information concerning your problem and of local doctors and their practices.

After reading reviews for Dr Guevara...he definitely has his way of conducting his patient care. Since I was aware of his personality I was able to just wait for him to ask the questions and then there was time at the end of the appointment for me to ask anything that I wanted to know that he didn't cover and to repeat the treatment he gave. I have found him to be a thorough and excellent doctor.

I had a horrible experience with this doctor. So horrible that I ended up filing a complaint with the state medical board. Not only was his bedside manner really poor, he wasted my time in having a bunch of unnecessary labs taken. Other clients of his overheard him discussing my confidential information. Not only that, but I heard him making fun of the fact that I am overweight to his staff in the hallway. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

I'm baffled at the negative comments about Dr. Guevara. I found him to be very precise, extremely knowledgable about my medical condition, and a "straight to the point" discussion of treatment and alternatives. As to his bedside manner, I suspect that he is slightly shy and as a result the early visits are "all business" but that soon becomes very personable as patient and doctor get to know each other. I would highly recommend him to prospective patients.

HORRIBLE doctor. I will NEVER go back to him. ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE bedside manner. He basically just wants to get as money off of you as he can. He is not interested in your health. He runs a bunch of unnecessary tests, and asks you a million questions about your whole life. He tries to run tests on things that you aren't even in to see him for. DO NOT waste your time on him. He's horrible and an absolute QUACK doctor. He shouldn't even be allowed to practice medicine. I'm ashamed.
