I attempted to schedule through the TGH phone system for an initial appointment with Dr Petrus. The respondent said I was covered under an HMO and therefore they didn't take my insurance. I called my insurance, and the customer service rep assured me that I'm covered under a PPO plan. I called the TGH system back (I think the same rep), and informed her what my insurance customer service rep told me, politely asked about setting up an appointment, and she hung up on me without saying another word. I can't say anything about Dr. Petrus, having not met him. But if this behavior is representative of their appointment scheduling staff, they need to take a second look at who they're hiring for that important job.

Highly recommend Dr. Petrus for his medical acumen and sincere interest in the purpose of the visit and response thereto. Explains matters and courses of action needed to resolve patient's concerns. Always professional while courteous and with the ability to relax the patient.
I prefer local area medical care, but gladly travel far to stay under his care.
