My experience was great!!
The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions regarding my insurance. I lost my insurance card and the staff looked everything up for me and even printed a temp card for me until I receive a new one. Dr. Rastegar was so wonderful! She made me feel comfortable and addressed my concerns. I plan on recommending her to my family!!

Not so great experience…
Uber rude office staff. Had to inquire from another patient if that was how they are habitually (she shrugged and said they were used to it and didn’t even n otice it anymore). Stumbled on what was submitted to insurance. None of diagnosis ever discussed w me…to best of my recollection. Wrote to office to clarify. No response. Never went back. Friendly doctor one on one.

I’m a physician myself, a psychiatrist, and I set high standards for the doctors I see. Five years ago I was experiencing burning sensations in my chest while running; Dr. Rastegar scheduled a stress test in her office. My Left Anterior Descending artery (the widow[er] maker) was 80% blocked; and she told me to get a cab to NYU where the head cardiac surgeon put a stent in a few hours later. More recently when I developed hypertension, she started me on various medications, one at a time, slowly and carefully; she gave me the opportunity to join a study she and her husband (a cardiac electrophysiologist) are running; my blood pressure is now mostly in the teens and low twenties. She is responsive to my rare emails and phone calls (I try not to be a pest). Her demeanor is serious, never alarmist; she is firm yet gentle. She’s a beautiful person--tall, slender, elegant--and good-hearted: unlike many NYC docs, she takes Medicare. And she's on time! I recommend her to you unreservedly.

Unfortunately this was not a positive experience. Dr. Rastegar was highly anxious and rushed. While she injected me twice to bring my heart rate down, she was calling out to her husband (in the same room) 'It's not going down, it's not going down.' She transmitted this anxiety to me. She then sent me to ER unnecessarily, not even allowing me to go home to collect my wallet with all my ID documents and money, filling me with fear and anxiety. She could simply have given me a carvedilol pill. I was in ER for 11 hours waiting for tests as I was not on the emergency list. She was too anxious to listen.

Excellent. Very careful and cautious. Hospital ER was ready to let me go after chest pains subsided, but she called and told ER to keep me, do not let me go. Third round of blood tests showed MI and I needed stents immediately. She saved me! She is also very personable and listens carefully and answers questions clearly.

Outstanding, compassionate physician. I am an Emergency doc. I know the medical care system, and have an inside track on best physicians. Ramonda Rastegar is tops. The negative comment from a smoker who put their helth at risk is laughable. They got told an unpleasant truth, and got upset. Too bad they may die because of smoking.

Dr. Rastegar is the best. She is both very thorough and knowledgeable but doesn't forget that she is dealing with human beings. I have the utmost confidence in her a a physician and on top of that she is one of the most caring and kind doctors I have ever met. I feel fortunate to have her as my cardiologist at a time when in most practices the care and time spent with patients is decreasing.

If you smoke you are crucified. Every/any problem you have is going to be attributed to smoking. In my case she dug a whole for herself when she pulled out her cell phone and run an app with the intent to show me my risk on having a heart attack because of smoking. She plugged in a few numbers and showed me my risk is 38%. She than changed ONLY the smoking factor and to her demise my risk was still 38%. Also she claims that salt cannot be checked in a blood test..that's a big one!!!
