Fantastic Surgeon
Dr. McClaine is an excellent surgeon! She did a bowel resection on my colon when it became twisted. She removed my right colon and appendix to prevent this from happening again. She was calm and patient with me before surgery when I was extremely nervous. Dr. McClaine has excellent bedside manner and clearly explains everything to her patients.

Unprofessional and unpleasant
Scheduled a colonoscopy procedure 2 months in advance, only to find out 2 days before the procedure that due to my medical history of arryhthmia, they need to reschedule my procedure to be done in a hospital. The Doctor would not hold responsibility to check my background beforehand and her secretary was absolutely insensitive to the situation. Extremely unprofessional and very unpleasant experience. Will not recommend or go back to this provider.

Bad results from gall bladder surgery
Rebecca McClaine performed gallbladder surgery on my wife while employed in Cincinnati, Ohio several years ago. My wife has had horrible after effects from the surgery performed by Rebecca McClaine for several years now. She immediately had severe pain and I rushed her back to the hospital emergency room where they could not figure out what was wrong. McClaine was finishing up a surgery but refused to come down afterward and check on my wife's abdominal pain. Instead she sent down an assistant who told us it was just healing pains. Almost immediately my wife started having digestive problems and her upper body in the chest area increased drastically in distance around her chest. She suddenly gained an enormous amount of body tissue over her entire body. She has for over 4 years since the surgery had extreme digestive problems and experiences extreme diarrhea as soon a she eats a meal. We tried to get her back for followup with McClaine but she refused to see her.

Dr. Rebecca McClaine was the worst, I had seek out 2 others Surgeons to repair the damage she did. I could have done a better job on myself. I would not trust her to place stitches. After couple hours in surgery, she called in another Dr for a consult, placed an ostomy in a natural crease, which chronically leak in to my mid line( which was crooked), then pulled out my drains and had to manually pack me. I ended up with FOUR hernias that needed repaired! RUN don't walk from this surgeon.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. McClaine! My husband went to Jefferson Hospital as an emergency at 9:00 p.m. on a Sunday in late February 2018. After some testing, it was determined he had a perforated colon and at 1:00 a.m., he was wheeled into surgery where he was met by Dr. McClaine. She was absolutely wonderful throughout that whole ordeal of recovery, follow-up doctor appointments and finally, on June 6, 2018, the reversal of his colostomy and a few more doctor appointments until she released him from her care. Dr. McClaine made that whole awful ordeal easier to go through with her kind demeanor and compassionate manner. I would recommend her to family and friends. Thank you, Dr. McClaine!

I saw Dr McClaine for umbilical hernia repair. She was kind a patient during initial consult. Decided to have surgery to repair hernia. Open method was used and recovery has gone well. Minimal bruising and one month later I am back to mostly normal behavior. She had great bedside manner and I would recommend her to a friend seeking general surgery.

The entire process for my hernia, from the initial diagnosis to the follow-up post-surgery could not have been easier. Dr. McClaine and her staff were friendly, professional and (most importantly) very open about what would be involved every step of the way. My wife and I loved the way that everything was explained in full and that they didn't dumb anything down. I would trust this unit with my life.

Disappointing outcome of a routine inguinal hernia surgery on Sept. 27 2017 with a 12 x 9 x 9 hematoma. Ended up in ICU, low vitals. Luckily bleed clotted on its own. I have now gone to another general surgeon who indicated he would have taken me right back into surgery and called in angio. I have had numerous ultrasounds and bloodwork done, hematoma at 2.5 months later is still massive. Following up with general surgeon who I had second opinion with recently and will have a CT done in January.

I'm 27 years old, healthy, active, yet was having extreme side pain problems thought to be gallbladder. I had an ultrasound that showed no gallstones. My HIDA scan results were read as functioning normal by my PCP but referred me to Dr McClaine for further discussion. She told me my results showed my EF rate was high which is rare and overlooked. Surgery was scheduled quickly due to me having a planned vacation and me being in extreme pain. I/m grateful she recommended surgrey and did so quickly
