Brought my liver back to life
Dr Akhtar was highly recommended to me for an endoscopy after a hospital stay revealed problems with my liver and biliary duct. You will find him to be likeable, empathetic and patient in discussing your case and you can be confident in his abilities. As the date for my endoscopy neared, my condition got worse, including visible jaundice. What started out to be an investigative procedure to determine the extent of my liver damage immediately required a stent to restore the flow in my biliary duct. Through the stent, he restored the biliary duct into working order and brought my liver back to life. It bought me the time needed to arrange more extensive liver surgery that is upcoming. Thank you Dr Akhtar - Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Dr. Akhtar
Dr. Akhtar is extremely intelligent, caring and attentive. He listened patiently to everything I had to say and was very empathetic and knowledgeable about my concerns. He understood exactly what I was experiencing. I was initially very apprehensive about getting a colonoscopy for the very first time, but I felt very confident in his abilities, and he made the entire experience a very pleasant one. Dr. Akhtar was thorough and explained the outcome in terms that were easily understood. I am so happy to have found such a great doctor, and I cannot imagine going to anyone else.

He saved my husband's life by finding & removing a large gallstone in his billiary duct; and took biopsy of surrounding inflamed cells to screen for possible cancer....He also advised that my husband needed to have his gallbladder removed. (Jan, 2014) (August 2016) Husband is doing fine thanks to Dr. Akhtar & a fabulous thoracic surgeon, Dr. Jerome Vernick!
