Beware of side effects
Dr Gentry was not sufficiently knowledgeable regarding prognosis, prevention and treatment of side effects of my chemotherapy medication. A very frustrating experience.

Best of the Best
She is sharp, explains options thoroughly, and does not rush through an appointment! She might be difficult to schedule because she is SO BUSY; however, that is a sign of her popularity and success. She is my mother’s oncologist and has done an amazing job. Dr. Gentry admits that she has to slow down (I don’t know when she sleeps), but that has not affected the quality of care & attention she provides each of her patients. I jokingly asked her if family members of former patients would automatically be accepted b/c she is trying to cut down on how many new patients she will accommodate. She said, “absolutely!” Ironically, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer exactly one year after my mother’s diagnosis, so I am hopeful she will be my oncologist! ;-)

I am a patient of Dr. Gentry and I will say this, I would not trust my care or my life to any other oncologist. Dr. Gentry is very personable and I actually look forward to my visits with her, unlike going to most physicians. I always look forward to her bright smile that will turn any bad day around.

Dr. Gentry is knowledgeable, responsive, and caring. She has cheered me through my cancer diagnosis, and through little victories along the way. She has also been receptive to our ideas and questions regarding my treatment. We might have been on different pages at the beginning, but now we are a good team battling this cancer.

I have been a patient of hers since 2011. I love her because she is very knowledgeable and explains everything well. I had a very rare cancer, leiomyosarcoma. I have been cancer free for almost 8 yrs. My MOST favorable thing about her is she treats you like a person not a number!!! She really cares about her patients and their families. I would recommend her highly.

I am so pleased with Dr. Gentry, she puts you at ease because she is aware that dealing with cancer is very stressful. On my initial visit she told me my tumor would be sent for an onco type dx to determine if I needed chemo, the process takes 3 weeks. I returned in three weeks as soon as she walked into the room she joyfully shouted out " I have good news". I had stressed for 3 weeks and she knew it and she wanted to immediately eliminate my stress. She hugs you at the end of the visit.

Cari does not help people know about high dollar prescription drug help thru mfg or other programs. There is a terrible disconnect and the right hand doesn't know what left hand is doing and doctor washes her hand and says just need to go to hospital if counts drop if can't afford medicine. Run like the wind from this place until their administrators can fix all the problems. Too many to go into in this space. There are better options

Dr. Gentry is a God-send. She met with my daughter who is 19 years old and diagnosed her with stage 4 lymphoma. God could not have sent us (the whole family) to a better person. Her bedside manner is unmatched by anyone I've ever seen (and I've been in healthcare for 32 years). She was very kind and compassionate. Our daughter is alive today because of Dr. Gentry. She and her staff were very thorough in their explanation and her interventions were spot on. What a blessing!

Dr Gentry is one of a dying breed of drs. I am 60 yrs old and in all my life I have never seen a dr who truly cares for her patients as much as she does. I have carried friends and family with me to her office and everyone has come away impressed saying if they ever need an oncologist then shes who they want. Even a nurse in the hospital was impressed by her bedside manners and said she wanted her for her dr if she needed an oncologist. Dr Gentry and her staff go above and beyond to help.

No compassion & poor bedside manner. Instead of taking the time to sit down with my Father & tell him face-to-face, she had her nurse call to his hospital room & tell him he had cancer because she was too busy at her clinic(another Drs words at the hospital that tried to smooth things over). Dr Gentry wanted to immediately put in a PIC line & start a 30-day chemo round without discussing options or knowing what type/stage. There were still five lab tests pending from the biopsy. Furious.

Dr. Gentry is above all caring and compassionate. She is straightforward in giving the facts, but allows the patient time to process the information. Wish all doctors would share her bedside manner and compassion!! She takes time to KNOW her patients!
