I needed new PCP Dr. and tried Dr Tapia. After having my last Dr for almost 15 years. I needed a Dr that could continue my treatments and refill my medications. On my first visit I sat in the lobby for about an hour and half after my appointment time. When talking with the Dr, he doesn’t listen to anything I have to say, and hyper fixates on elevated blood pressure caused by the long wait with a screaming kid in the lobby. Tried to go over my history, medication list and the Dr would just leave the room randomly and come back in and ask the same questions again. On my 2nd appointment I sat in the lobby for another hour before being taken back and setting for another hour. Dr. came in and hyper focused once again on my blood pressure that was completely normal. I asked for refills on 3 prescriptions. One prescription became an issue after explaining it took my last Dr, and a specialist over a year to get the dosage right. Had a copy of my medical records for him and asked him to contact my previous pcp for more information. Dr called in 2 of my 3 prescriptions, with no extra refills. One of those prescriptions is a life sustaining medication. This DR needs to listen to his patients, and their issues. I felt this Dr didn’t listen to me, and talked at me, while being fixated on none issues.

I didn't see Dr. Tapia at this location, but rather at Adelante Healthcare in Surprise. The entire process was a joke. Delayed appointment (45 min), no communication between staff members or with patients who had been waiting FOREVER. Then the doctor just talked at me, in my face the entire time. Every time I backed up, he got closer. Very uncomfortable. Then, I called in for a refill on simple birth control and every single person I spoke to was nasty about it, lied to me about medical practice in the state and stated that AZ law was the reason they couldn't refill it after 3 months (I'm not uneducated about this stuff - I know my rights as a patient as well as laws in AZ regarding medication). They caused me to miss an entire month of birth control because of their inability to follow expected procedure. Absolutely do not recommend.
