Doctoring How It SHOULD Be!
I knew we were finally with the right doctor when Dr. Arness laid out, very directly, to my husband how he needed to recover from his diabetic ulcer. My husband has needed doctors to be direct with him for over a year now! He went from being a man with no walking issues to being unable to walk after he made himself an invalid following colorectal surgery! Doctors and PT he was seeing during recovery did nothing to be direct with him and tell him that he needed to get moving or he would pay the price. All my husband ever heard was, 'Everybody's recovery is different. ' And in his mind that felt like he was ok laying his bed 22 hours a day. Dr. Arness stepped in as one of the first doctors to be upfront and direct about his care. And because of that we may have my husband back one day! Direct communication is A MUST in healthcare and should never have left.

Can’t bare weight after over a year
I had a calcaneal osteotomy done, and a gastrocnemius recession. After a year and a half I still can’t bear full weight on my foot. he explained to me that the cadaver bone broke as he was putting it in my heel and kind of joked about it he did my right foot seven years ago and it’s fine but he messed up my left foot. Can’t bear weight on it. I can’t walk for long distances. He also doesn’t recommend physical therapy to his patients which seems absolutely insane considering your nonweightbearing for three months. Was very active prior to the surgery and it saddens me that I can’t even put full weight on my foot after a year and a half!!!!

What a lovely man!
I came really close to asking this man to marry me! Just kidding...kinda. Seriously though, Dr. Arness is THE most down-to-earth, bedside-friendly, super just REAL human doctor I've ever met. I feel like I laughed through my entire appt (for plantar fasciitis in both feet), cortisone injection and all; and I learned a lot as well. He was very gentle injecting my heel, gave me excellent pre-fab orthotics and great aftercare advice, and not even a week later I feel SO much better!I should also state that all of the office staff was very friendly and accomodating, and I really couldn't have had a better experience with what I thought would be such an unpleasant appointment. I cannot recommend this office and Dr. Arness enough! I almost wish I had a reason to go back!
