Does not listen, flippant, condescending
My orthopedic surgeon referred me after lab work. Dr Divalerio told me I didn’t have a rheumatologic disorder without even asking my history. He basically reviewed the labs and had made his diagnosis before I met him. He was very condescending and treated me like a hypochondriac even though I rarely seek medical care. I was only seeing orthopedist due to an injury. Dr Divalerio spent less than 10 minutes with me, most of which he spent berating me because the orthopedic doctor had ordered labs and according to Dr Divalerio “didn’t know what he was doing”. Dr Divalerio ordered some follow up labs and I never heard back from him. Now, many years later, I have been referred again to a rheumatologist and I’m finding out that Dr Divalerio was wrong. This level of care is unacceptable

Excellent, caring physician
I’ve been seeing Dr D for years for an autoimmune condition. He is kind, caring, always on top of meds. I think he listens. Yes, he is speedy because he carries such a patient load but I have never left his office with unanswered questions. His secretary is awesome! wait times are usually less than 15 minutes.

Matter of fact but knowledgeable
Dr. DiValerio definitely knows his stuff, and can come across a little abrupt when discussing health conditions. It did not bother me, but I’m sure it can be frustrating to some people. He was very kind and I appreciate his preference for the fewest number of prescriptions possible. He will prescribe appropriate medication, but will not over-medicate you and is very conscientious of side effects and interactions. He was very accommodating with my travel schedule and visits, and as soon as we determined my condition was not rheumatological in nature, I stopped seeing him. I liked that he didn’t waste either of our time and try to get a few more copays out of me.

Does not listen well
Professional for the most part but do not expect this doctor to give you time to speak. He does not listen well or allow a complete sentence before cutting you off to discount you. Very insensitive. After two visits, both equally terrible, I’m never going back. I chose him because other’s stated he doesn’t push meds. That holds true. And it was appreciated, nonetheless.

Good listener, thorough and helpful doctor
Saw Dr. Divalerio after our cardiologist brow beat my husband into take a second statin after reacting badly to a previous statin. The second statin left my husband with muscle and joint pain, weakness, limping and balance problems. Cardiologist had no clue what to do and said "see a rheumatologist." Another doctor we valued suggested Dr. Divalerio and it was an excellent choice. Dr. D listened patiently to the history, did a thorough exam, ordered a number of blood tests to rule out other disorders and agreed to a trial of prednisone we had read about for autoimmune statin reactions. Within 2 weeks my husband started improving and hopes to be rid of this unfortunate reaction by the time he finishes the course of treatment. I plan to go to this doctor for my own arthritis problems after our good experience with him. I would highly recommend him.

Several years ago I was suffering from a rare autoimmune disorder called Adult Onset Still’s disease. I was on high doses of several medications including methotrexate. When he saw how much methotrexate I was taking he said he thought it was a typo. He said he would write a strongly worded letter to my insurance company telling them that if they didn’t approve the medication Enbrel coming out that January, that they would more likely be paying for a liver transplant for me. Thankfully, the medication was approved and within four months I got off of all of my medication’s except the Enbrel of course. I’d say the man saved my life. He is extremely kind, thorough and really listens. I have recommended him to several people with rheumatological conditions. He is the best.

Simply didn’t care!
Awful. Every appointment has been worse than the previous one. He could not have cared less about what I’m going through. He gave me all of 5-10 minutes for my last appointment and I was in tears from what’s happening to me health wise. Too bad for me I guess. Have appointment with new rheumatologist next week!!

Caring doctor with excellent skills.
Dr. Divalerio has been treating my husband for his rheumatoid arthritis. He is very caring and leaves no stone unturned in his effort to help his patient. At each visit he does comprehensive blood work and listens carefully to his patient before making recommendations. Dr. V. is well read and on top of the latest research in his field. His office gets back to his patient with blood test results and medication recommendations very soon after they have been seen. We have a lot of faith in him!

I been seeing Dr Divalerio for quite sometime now. He is a very caring Dr. And he listens to you and answers questions if you don't understand. He has helped me out with my reheumatoid arthritis and if one medicine stops working he's right upon finding something else for me. Mary his secretary is so sweet, she always gets back to me the same day I call because they know reheumatoid arthritis is very painful and they don't like to see their patients in pain. I will be forever grateful to them for their services.

Seen dr for 7 years, he picked a treatment, it allowed me to still be able to work, allowed me to have somewhat of a normal life and we stuck with it for years, my first visit of 2020 and he informed me that he now gets a letter from the health department telling him that he should pull me off of the drugs he prescribed... but he never replaced any of the therapy, even after telling him that it's ruining my job and my life. Well, he forced me out of work and I come to find out that he had no medical records on me, the blood work that he ran @ the beginning of 2020 was the first round of blood work for an initial workup and I started seeing him in 2014... Now who do I trust? Is the health dept stepping on toes or has he been poisoning me for 7 years without having any records, blood work, or imaging done. I have since started with another Rheumatologist and they have heard the same about him and are afraid that he is still allowed to practice. And since most of his patients are @ end-of

I wouldn't even give this office 1 star, or should I say Dr. Divalerio and his secretary Mary.. if you want an office with compassion this is not it.. They seem to have issues communicating with their patients and dealing with Mary is nothing short of a nightmare.. my mom has been a patient for 25+ years, we all the sudden hear from home health that she is no longer a patient, Weird we just saw him Sep 10 and instead of a phone call, maybe some referrals to new physician and an explanation why, we had to call and get accused of lying to her and she said she sent a letter telling us he is no longer her physician!! After many years and many visits to be treated like that is unacceptable, I guess Mary doesn't have loved ones she has to look after or care for and you can sure tell

From the first time I met Dr. DiValerio, I felt at ease. He is one of those doctors that listens first, and then asks questions. He is truly concerned about what is ailing you, specifically what your problems are and actually wants to help you feel better. I was very impressed with Dr. DiValerio and would highly recommend going to him for your rheumatology needs. I plan on seeing him for years to come.
