He is the best. I went to have my shoulder replaced and when he got in there, he just scraped stuff, arthritis out of there and cleaned it up a bit. Knock on wood I have no trouble with that shoulder anymore. He could have did a new shoulder on me and I would have never known, but he was honest and said let’s try this for a while and see how it goes. I am having trouble with my other shoulder and I have to call tomorrow to see if he takes my insurance. I have a different one then I had when I saw him I pray that I will be able to see him again. He is a caring and professional surgeon who does a great job. I give him five stars.

Shoulder replacement failure
Received a complete shoulder replacement which failed to operate within 2 yrs.Just had to have a revision replacement of 'discontinued ' hardware Dr Harrison used. He bragged that this apparatus was his invention When I came back after 2 yrs to complain about the pain and shoulder popping out of place, his reply was 'my work looks good ' and sent me on my way. He stated I should go see a neurologist. Stay away. This doctor lied to me on several aspects of this replacement Stay away and find another doctor.

STAY AWAY
PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM DR. HARRISON AND HIS STAFF. I was referred to Dr. Harrison for a wrist surgery due to a break. He suggested a surgery to regain my full mobility.. I agreed as well. The day of the surgery I waited 4 hours before I was taken back. When he came in to debrief me he was very inconsiderate of my anxiety and even took a non-emergency phone call while debriefing me on the procedure. From the day I left the OR to now (4 weeks and countig), I still have not heard from Dr. Harrison to answer my questions and concerns. His NP had no bedside manners and when she came into the room for my post-op appointment she couldn't answer any of my questions because she did not know how to read the post-op report... all she said was I had a very significant break and I may never gain my mobility back (the whole reason I chose surgery). The assistant who took my stitches out was very unprofessional, reaked like smoke and his scrubs were dirty. While he was taking my stitches out h

It was terrible! He was very arrogant and said to my 75 year old mother 5 separate times after looking at her X-Ray 'Well the good news is you don't have cancer!' How is that even appropriate when looking at an x-ray of a shoulder??? No she doesn't but her husband died of cancer and that was a terrible thing to say!! Terribly arrogant and unkind. We will NOT be returning.

I highly recommend Dr. Harrison, his staff & surgical team. Dr. Harrison is very knowledgeable, professional, informative & detailed. He took time explaining my problem & the procedure to treat me. I felt very confident & reassured of a great outcome. Which I had!!! Thank you for being my 'hero'!

No follow up after surgery at all
My relative and I met with Dr Harrison to schedule a surgery. He explained the procedure, how he would prescribe the pain medications and talked about the follow ups after the surgery. After the surgery we left nine different messages on their answering machine. We had to call the doctor's office across the street, and they went and informed them that we were in a critical state and needed to be called immediately. Dr Harrison had messed up the pain medications and his staff blamed it on everyone but him. If you go to see this doctor and he agrees to do surgery, I would run as fast as I could to another surgeon.

Dr. Richard Harrison has much experience with performing multiple upper extremity surgical repairs on me. I have had two surgeries performed by him ranging 10 years apart. Both were massively successful. No nerve damage, no loss of motion. Full recovery within weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Richard Harrison. Great surgeon!

Had a reverse TSR in February 2020, and after 7 months started to have discomfort in my shoulder. Never did have a post operative meeting with Dr. Harrison as he was on military deployment and moved from Health First to Seward. in October 2020 I had x rays with other orthopedic doctors. They found one of the screws in my shoulder had broken and most of my shoulder had been cut away. I was advised that a revision surgery is not possible as there is not enough bone to anchor a replacement screw or screws, and this is "the end of the line". I am very disappointed and now take daily pain killers. I may end up losing my arm, a total disaster.

Waiting two hours to get scheduled for surgery is ridiculous, the new surgery scheduler is slow never calls people back and takes forever . BRING BACK THE OLD BRITANY or no more Dr Harrison for me . Sometimes its not worth losing your best asset to the company the OLD Britany made things happen .Best Nurse I have ever encountered. Dr Harrison will lose alot of patients if this continues.

Ummmmmm...... probably the dumbest move to get rid of Britany. No one cares like her , Harrison knows he needs her why such a stupid move . Brenda I never want to see her face she is rude , Joe he can go too. HARRISON BRING YOUR BEST EMPLOYEE BACK NO ONE LIKES THE OTHER ONES. You might as well shut down without Britany things will fall apart. Harrison is a great surgeon but won't be able to survive without Britany. Why let go of the one person that showed the most empathy and compassion for people . The one that was the most knowledgeable. STUPID

Two outstanding experiences with Dr Harrison and his staff at Steward Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. 1. Dr Harrison consulted with the ER doctor when our 11 year old son went to Melbourne Regional Medical Center’s ER with a seriously misaligned broken arm. Dr Harrison’s Orthopedic expertise was critical in the very effective treatment of our son. 2. Our next day visit to Dr Harrison’s office at Steward’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine was fantastic. The confident and calming communication from reception to Med Tech to X-ray tech to PA was exceptional. They provided great care while reducing our stress.

I saw him in March, was to have surgery in mid May for a shoulder replacement. This was canceled due to him being in the Army reserves, had to do his 2 weeks in April and now almost end of June and no Dr Harrison. I kept calling office and got the run around about where he is. At the initial visit he told me to take 1000mg of aspirin every day for pain, I thought better of this as it could potentially cause stomach distress. The pain has increased daily, very frustrating. Today, finally called a different doctors office, 70 miles away and hopefully can proceed with surgery. Nothing against him or staff but if you need surgery, think twice about scheduling appointments around his Army schedule. Just feels he doesn’t put his patients first or inform his staff of what’s really going on.

Dr. Harrison has been nothing short of the BEST. He performed carpel tunnel surgery on both of my hands, and my right arm. My life has been truly changed for the better. With regard to my right arm, I had been numb for a number of months prior to surgery, with limited range of motion, upon surgery, the same day, I had feeling and range of motion back in my arm. I am 100% happy and have highly recommended him to many friends and family.

Dr. Harrison performed a right shoulder labrum and rotator cuff repair on me in June. Prior to surgery I was in constant pain especially at night and wasn’t able to use my right dominant arm to do much. Less than 6 months later I have zero pain. I can use my arm to do anything including going for a nice workout. Most importantly, I can sleep through the night! Dr. Harrison is kind, compassionate, thorough and very professional. We are honored to have a great surgeon and a great person here in Brevard County. I recommend him without hesitation!
