Dr. Kirby has operated on both of my shoulders. Both surgeries were very successful, and I was able to return to full athletic activity quickly. Dr. Kirby's knowledge and experience gave me great confidence going into both operations. His bedside manner is excellent and I knew I was in good hands.

Both Rotatercuffs
I met Dr. Kirby back in 1984 and he rebuilt my right rotators cuff and it was shatter. He never see one like that. Then 10 years later I saw him again for the left shoulder rotatar cuff. He told me if it like the right he will do the same. Once again he did the same surgery as my right. Then he started only doing shoulder surgery. I had both knees done by DR Hormel. My first ever surgery was done by Dr. Loken, then everything else went to Dr. Kirby and Dr. Hormel. Both wonderful doctors. I would hate to see them retire. Now that I have changed insurance I see Dr. Stoll and Dr. Honari. The Dr all know each other. Funny …….

Dr. Kirby did surgery on my rotator cuff after an accident and also found a torn bicep. I have had very good results with no pain. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Kirby is an outstanding shoulder specialist!!! I’m surprised to see he has anything below a 5 star rating. He’s healed and helped three generations of old Seattle natives in my family and we count ourselves lucky to have had him help with shoulder issues over the years.

I believe Dr. Kirby is an extremely skilled and knowledgeable doctor. He's also a lovely human being. He performed a complete shoulder replacement operation on me which has been very successful. I am now pain free after years of suffering. Thank you, Dr. Kirby.

Dr. Kirby is outstanding. He is empathetic; he listens well, and he communicates clearly. Moreover, his relaxed but professional demeanor put me at ease- which is important because that made for better communication. Basically, Dr. Kirby is not only one of our region's top docs, he's also a great guy. As a bonus, his staff were also outstanding. I had to wait past the appointment time to see him; I think that's a fair trade-off, to be seen by a physician who doesn't rush appointments. I give Dr. Kirby and his staff an A+

Dr. Kirby did an outstanding job repairing not only my rotator cuff but discovered a tendon hanging by a thread. The physical therapy was spot on. And all this after my primary care doctor said I only needed PT!! So after 3 months of suffering, Dr. Kirby fixed the problems expertly. This was a few years ago and I have had absolutely no problems.

I looked up this MD on internet & short bio indicated he cared about his patients. I didn't choose to have surgery by him because the Swedish MRI team I saw on 2nd visit with him said he only does 'open surgery', no arthroscopy. At consult, he was unwilling to agree my R bicep pain was related to a 3.3.18 mva even after my sub-jective; unbearable R bicep pain began same day as mva. 12.17.18 MRI with contr-ast dye showed 75% partial tears in R rotator cuff, up from 50% [2018 MRI]. All 3 visits with him, he failed to report my subjective statement, "no recall of being rear-ended or of my car being pushed 6-8 ft." I asked him if my subjective state-ment meant anything to him and he said he bases opinion on objective evidence only. He agreed to do surgery but didn't tell me it would be open surgery. He knew I was very frustrated he didn't correlate 2018 mva with continual unbearable R bi -cep pain. The bio didn't indicate if he only does open surgery vs arthroscopy.

I had shoulder pain for many months . Dr. Kirby requested an MRI. After reviewing MRI results, Kirby recommended a series of home exercises. After a couple of months should pain gone and I had full range of motion. I have recommended him many times and will recommend him again.

Was told that therapy is bad surgery is not an option and that we should go back to work don't see any doctors or therapy because it would be a waste of time. That in 2 to 3 years it will heal itself. Wow

I had a surgery performed by Dr. Kirby seven years ago. Before the surgery my shoulder was in pain for over 2 years. Unfortunately the cat scans and MRI's did not show what was wrong. I saw Dr. Kirby and one of the things I liked about him besides his knowledge and bedside manner was the fact that he never once pushed doing a surgery. I finally had him do it and he ended up repairing a torn rotator cuff that was a good as new in 5 months. He's the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
