Dr. Richard Legge Jr, MD

Went to see Dr. Legge because he was the only Neuro-Ophthalmologist available on short notice. Was in the ER with significant visual disturbances caused by what I now know is Thyroid Eye Disease. MRI showed serious inflammation. Of course he never diagnosed me with anything just gave me a steroid and sent me on my way when It worked. He also never told me how long to take the steroids for. Obviously steroids are not a long term fix and my eyesight only got worse and my eyes more painful. He also seemed generally annoyed that I was even there in the first place. Was hoping for some relief as I have had this disease untreated for 10yrs. I know that Dr. Legge is not a TED specialist, but c’mon now. I learned much more from a quick google search than I did from him. Now I worry if my vision impairment is permanent.

After waiting 2 hrs we still hadn’t even seen the Dr. then we were told it would be another 2-3hr wait. Sorry to say no Dr is that great to wait 4-5hrs. Don’t waste your time with this Dr or place, go to a different place and Dr that respects your time better!

We usually spend no less than 2 hours between waiting and seeing Dr. Legge but he is always worth it. He always takes his time, answers all our questions, and apologizes for our wait. His staff is always helpful and understanding of the wait (as my son sees him). Although we are seeing him for a fairly minor issue he realizes it is important to us.

When I first went to Dr. Legge it was after being to an eye doctor 3 months in a row and that doctor had no asnwer for my headaches and eye's not working together. Was able to get into Dr. Legge in 1 day!!! He immediately was like we are going to do some scans to make sure there is nothing on the brain and your thyroid is okay and if its not that then we will need to do surgery. We ended up doing surgery which fixed my problem it was amazing! HES AMAZING!!!

Dr. Legge is very competent in neuro ophthamology. We are so Blessed to have him so close to Blair, NE. Extremely thorough, and explains things so well. Very kind and calm. Has helped me through some very scarey times with sudden vision loss and optic nerve neuropathy. I feel he is the Best neuro ophthamologist in the nation. Would highly recommend him to family and friends. The only suggestion I have which does not reflect on Dr. Legge's care is they need more diagnostic machines for so many.

Dr. Legge saved my son's vision, with a difficult and rare diagnosis of Duane's Syndrome. The doctor we took him to first told us that our son (7 months old at the time) would go blind in one eye due to his condition, and there was nothing that could be done. We took him to Dr. Legge for a second opinion, and he vehemently disagreed with the other doctor's 'treatment plan'. He was the hero we needed, and when he operated, the results were precise and flawless. I will always recommend him.

I feel he is very good at providing appropriate service. Have not required urgent service so couldn't answer that question

I am referring my nephew who suffered eye injury.
