I am 4 years post-op. Dr. Adelaar performed tendon transfer surgery on my ankle following the rupture of my tibial posterior tendon. He and the staff were committed to getting me as close to "normal" as soon as possible. From initial visit to the MRI, surgery, cast changes, and walking boot -- it is a long process. The functionality of my ankle is "near normal," and that is better than before surgery. I highly recommend VCU / MCV's entire orthopaedic department staff.

I Love Dr. Adelaar. He gave me back my quality of life that I thought I would never get back. He fixed my ankle for me and I will always be forever grateful to him for his commitment to being the best and expecting the best from his staff. They were all wonderful and made me feel 100% confident about having my ankle fused. Dr. Adelaar was honest with me. He provided all of my options before we actually did the surgery. He was patient with me and he educated me on my diagnosis. He is the best.
