Had 4 kidney stones referenced on C.T. kidney specific image. Was prescribed Magnesium and Lemon water. Prior to 6 month waiting period had an emergency room trip to assist with passing stone. Heart rate at 42 per min suffered a great deal.Called office yo pass word to Dr. Appel. O return call. Dropped off paper after 2nd CTscan to deal with 2 remaining stones, 1 at 6mm in other kidney that was never detected on first visit? Called 3 weeks later to secure appointment, staff list paperwork, and his nurse basically called me a liar... so, I’m done with that urologist. Really wasn’t comfortable in the office at all. Lady that list my paperwork quit unexpectedly. He should really hire a better staff that has customer service skills.

ZERO STARS! If you like being treated like a a dog, then go see this So called RUDE, OBNOXIOUS Doctor! He has bedside manners like a DOG! I was literally in tears before I got to checkout! Excuse me DR. Appel..... but I’M the paying patient! He stressed that he was 63 years old and has been doing this for 35 some odd years and he had his OWN way of doing things and basically said in so many word, if you don’t like it, go somewhere else! Really?? I put my pants on same way u do SIR! Won’t go back

I had a bladder sling intervention which was not done right, too loose. Told the Doctor who told me that I was Knit picking & that he would have to do the operation again......to what I said Over my dead body. Many years later, I am still having a serous problem ; but I will keep the way I am than return to him..........& as a whole, no one is going to touch me again about this matter. A very dissatisfied patient.

Dr. Appel is very knowledgeable and does everything by-the-book.However, once out of his office the care for the patient is non existant. Following the visit I went and got the CT Scann of the kidneys. Results came back and I've had a kindney stone inside my kidney. I asked if I could go on a business trip and was given a green light. Started enduring pain 2nd day of my trip. My wife called the office 3 times to ask how large the stone was and if I should go to ER but never received a call back.

This Dr has absolutely no empathy towards his patient's pain. He took 6 months to diagnose a second kidney stone 6-7mm in size, only after 3 expensive tests, in the meantime my insurance dedubtible had reset. This was also after a surgery only 8 months prior to remove 7+ ureter stones. Which in turn would lead to over $6000 in bills, I couldn't afford the 2nd surgery and was pretty much told, that's all he would do for me, and not help my pain and could care less if you are in chronic pain.
