Dr. Robert Berg, MD

This is my third and final appointment with Dr. Berg. I’ve been waiting on an IUD for over a year, and every time I come in the office to ask about it, the front desk lady is extremely dismissive. The staff is rude, unorganized, and honestly slightly incompetent. While Dr. Berg isn’t the worst doctor, he doesn’t seem to have any connection with his patients and mid to low level of bedside manner. He is also always late, which causes the wait time to be anywhere from 25 min to an hour past your appointment time. Not worth coming here!

Although Dr.Berg is good at what he does as a provider I do not like him. His bedside manner is not the best. His team is great but I do not feel like he is a provider that truly cares about his patients. I felt very disregarded and rushed off the phone when expressing what I’m experiencing after surgery.

He is an insensitive incompetent clinician if you can even refer to him as a clinician. He has no morals or values in treating patients.

Dr. Berg was very professional and straight forward with my situation and provided realistic answers, options and solutions.

Rude, unkind, inefficient, unprofessional staff. MD always runs late. Shocked to have experienced THIS level of service from staff in 2024. It took me 10 weeks to get my procedure approved with my insurance company, because the surgical coordinator kept forgetting to call them. Once the call was made, clearance was given 28 minutes later. Obtaining information from the admin staff is akin to pulling teeth. They speak with disdain and rudeness to patients. Last straw was when I had a 10am appt (first of the day) and at 11am Dr. Berg still wasn't in, I asked when they expected him. They just laughed at me and said that he always runs late and I should just wait. Zero empathy for me or respect for my time. MD is abrasive but gets the job done (that's the one star).

Dr Berg is incredibly knowledgeable, takes time to answer all your questions and hands down the best OB surgeon. I moved away from NY and will still come back to him if needed. I also after my robotic myomectomy with him I got pregnant twice and he took time to discuss what a good birth plan would be even though I was living in CA. Yes he is straight forward and sometimes comes off harsh but he’s honest and tells it how it is. That might not be for everyone but if have to go under again I choose him every time.

I would leave 0 starts if possible. We arrived 10 mins early for a 12:20pm appt (our first with Berg having been recommended by my retiring OBG), ushered to room at 12:30 pm. 40 mins later, I asked the front desk when we could expect the Dr., to which they replied he's busy and shrugged their shoulders. Dr. Berg arrived to the room 10 minutes later (50 mins after appt time). We had planned our work days around the appointment so when I asked what we might expect in terms of timing for future appts, Berg indicated that he's busy and if we're not ok with it we should find someone else. He then refused to see us and walked out. Rude and abrasive, complete lack of punctuality - wish we'd read the reviews beforehand.

THE most atrocious experience of my life. Dr. Berg was abrasive, rude and invasive. I had paperwork from prior doctors & ultrasounds to which he read mumbling arrogantly, acknowledging I had a large mass needing to come out. He then had me lay back, proceeded to do a breast check? (no verbal prompt or cues), checked my stomach area and then yanked my ankles and put them in the stirrups. He then (without gloves or warning) inserted a device inside of me. He then put a glove on and “lube” on his hand then proceeded to insert, aggressively, multiple fingers inside me quite deep & pushed my stomach from the outside. This was beyond painful to which he had absolutely no regard or concern. He then abruptly removed his hand and proceeds to tell me he can remove the cyst & casually tells me he may also take my ovary (!) but would have to wait until I wake up (!) I walked away feeling violated. The front desk were AWFL as well. The office was filthy. Never going near that dr. again.

Horrible experience!!! Rude, unprofessional, caused a bunch of bodily damage.  Not a good doctor with an insanely bad bedside manner.

My experience with Dr Berg was excellent. He is smart direct and a great doctor. I don’t like doctors that give you a smile and could care less. He cares and helps you make the correct decisions regarding your gyn visits. The staff is healthful and polite . I recommend him highly.

This “Doctor” was so unconcerned with my care I am horrified that I didn’t seek out another provider. I ended up having a miscarriage and post d and c found out from another physician that he’d left “fetal remains” behind. I would highly recommend any person to not just walk but run from this uncaring compassionless “Doctor”.

Dr. Berg, Is an amazing doctor! He is worth the wait times! He is super patient and informative. He even has a great sense of humor. If you'e In new York. Make Dr. Berg your obgyn.

Dr Berg is wonderful, very honest and straight forward. Treated me and my family with utmost respect. Amazingly calm in a emergency situation.
