I'm Handicap now
Dr. Davis replaced my left knee on August 2nd 2021, a date I will regret my entire life. Dr. Davis operated on both my shoulders before with one still having issues. The good doctor replaced my knee and never addressed swelling. The first home pt person and all that followed told me the knee was too swollen to do anything with. We went back to Boston to see the doctor and he told me to have a glass of wine, put on some music and get over the ark of pain. I'm sorry but I've had 15 orthopedic surgeries, I can deal with pain. He then got up and left the room with his pa saying he was very busy. We immediately went to two other doctors who wouldn't touch the knee for a year. One gave me paperwork to get a handicap plate. Told me I would be handicap for the rest of my life. This is because of scar tissue building in the knee because swelling wasn't addressed. I'm now seeing a specialist who works only on special cases and he determined that I am indeed a special case. Thanks Dr Davis.

Adequate
I struggled to get a follow up appointment (after surgery). Sent three messages through patient portal and called twice! I need a Dr. that’s thorough, spends more than 10 minutes with you, isn’t dismissive and it would be nice to deal with a respectful staff, but that I can deal with.

Do Not Recommend
Dr. Davis performed two of knee surgeries. I wish I had the insight to look more in depth before receiving the surgery. From the start, he was just not very nice - he lacked "bedside manner" and would repeatedly show up late with no apology. I understand bedside manner is not a necessity, but this was the first negative interaction. After the first surgery, it was clear I needed a hardware removal but he, very firmly, said he would "not take the screws out until it had been 1 year exactly since the first surgery." This baffled my physical therapists because it was clear I needed the second surgery. Once I got the second surgery, I went back to PT but never fully recovered. I went back to him and complained about my symptoms and constant pain. He told me to "try not to think about it - everything is fine" and discharged me. I recently had a consult with two different surgeons, both of whom told me I need a revision from the original surgery he did as it failed. I would not recommend him

Maybe because I wasn't a surgical candidate, but Dr Davis treated me poorly. He spoke to his interns, and not to me. He was likely rushed, but as soon as he finished telling me that my AC separation was not something of serious concern, he turned his back to me and he and his interns walked out the door without addressing the questions that I didn't have the chance to ask. I have friends who have known and adore him, but for me it was one of the few times in a healthcare setting that I've felt deeply unseen, as if I didn't exist as a human being.

Dr. Davis is a wonderful professional and a very good person. I was totally comfortable with his care for my knee problems. There is a lot going on in the knees on multiple levels and Dr. Davis got to the crux of my problem quickly and prescribed? non-med therapies to help me through the difficulty. I remain extremely pleased with his care for me. He is excellent! I would not share this with you if I did not fully stand behind my referal. ?

I had the fortune of having Dr Robert David perform two rotator cuff surgeries for me. The surgeries were 10 years apart with the most recent surgery being a year-and a 1/2 ago in December 2015. When my second rotator cuff failed there was no question I was going go to Dr. Davis. I would not even consider anyone else. Dr. Davis is an astute professional with a warm manner with just the right amount of humor. Today' I'm back in the gym at 58 years-old still lifting every day and going strong.

Empathetic manner and focus on the patient as a person. Takes time to listen and to value patients' perceptions. This is 4 months after reverse total shoulder replacement - so glad I had it done. Results are remarkable! Don't know why I waited so long! Physical therapists couldn't believe how quickly strength and mobility returned. Now normal rotation, strength and mobility thanks to the expertise of Dr. Davis. Thank you!!!!
