Didn't listen t me
I had surgey on my foot. I went to Dr Dekker after having a failed first surgery. I had a non union bone that needed additinal surgery since it didn't heal after first surgery. The problem with Dr Dekker was I told him that my one toe also hurt and was swollen. He said it looked like it was calcified so shouldn't be a problem, it was to me. The surgery on the one bone was successful but the other bone I complained about that he said was healing hasn't. I am now going for my 3rd surgery in 17 months to put together the non union broken bone that he said was healing. A doctor has to listen to his patients. The toe was still swollen after 11 months, it hurt, the xray clearly showed it was in 2 peices

“I’m not a Miracle-Worker, But I know of One!”
I was frightened after looking for a new surgeon as a surgery to replace my Talis&Navicular Joints was undone when a Surgeon removed the screws (prematurely) 3 years post-op & left The State. I spent 7 years crippled and being told it was “Just Arthritis” when in actuality my Bone Marrow Joints had completely disintegrated. I had gone to 10 surgeons who all told me it was “arthritis” and I was completely distraught. I went to the 11th Foot-Surgeon & in his opinion my Foot would have to be amputated because of the extreme swelling although he said knew of “A Miracle-Worker” to whom he referred me. ‘Dr. Robert Dekker II’ was the first of 12 Surgeons who even Ordered a CT of my Foot. He felt confident in his ability to Recreate Strong Flexible Functioning Joints atop my foot that allow me to Walk again without the daily challenges of immense Swelling and insufferable Extreme Pain. His Reputation proceeds Him in a tiny network of Michigan’s Best Doctors.

The best!
Dr Dekker took a complex fracture issue and made it clear. He took a comprehensive, whole body approach to correct the damage I created from a fall. He is an excellent listener, takes his time explaining until you understand, explains all options, and builds a plan that makes sense and you are comfortable with. I had multiple body fractures and I wish the other physicians provided the same care. He is also heavily recommended by friends who are in the medical community. He really cares about your health and wants to provide optimal quality of life.

Excellent Doctor!
Dr. Dekker took the time to listen to my complaints of pain. He explained things clearly. He examined and touched the area in question to determine the extent of my pain. He then took x-rays to rule out a stress fracture and then deftly injected my foot, which I barely felt. My pain has greatly lessened and I am feeling much better. Thanks, Dr. Dekker!

Highly recommended
Both of my visits with Dr. Dekker were very informative, thorough and to the point. A detailed plan of action was put in place. I would highly recommend obtaining an appointment to see him for an evaluation before undergoing any ankle or foot surgical procedure. His staff was wonderful to work with as well. In the room in 5 minutes and saw him within 10 minutes at both appointments.

Pleasant and knowledgeable
Staff are very nice at this facility. Appointment start time was a little behind, but when I know that I will be given as much time as necessary by the doctor, I can understand how things can get behind. 'Alloted' appointment times may not always be enough.

Dr. Robert Dekker is a fantastic board certified orthopedic surgeon, specializing in foot and ankle disorders. I broke my ankle 30 years ago and have had pain every day since then. When he recommended an ankle replacement I was quite nervous but glad to have the opportunity to reduce the pain. Once my surgery pain subsided, I didn't have any more pain in the foot or ankle. It is practically miraculous! I would not hesitate to have him take care of me in the future and definitely would recommend him to anyone needing this specialty! His staff at both offices were also great to work with.
