Rude, outdated practice, and lack of communication
The experience with Dr. Harbour was so bad that I changed doctors and will NEVER see him again. He is extremely rude and does not speak directly to the patient unless he cannot avoid it. And even then he speaks to the patient as though he or she is very stupid. He even leaned his hands heavily on my face during the exam, which was painful because I have neck problems. When he left the room I had no idea that he wanted to schedule me for cataract surgery...I had to get the information from the assistant. Lastly, his methods are outdated. He seems to think that all patients must be under general anesthesia for cataract surgery, which is absolutely untrue. I would never let this man do surgery on my eyes with his heavy hands, outdated knowledge, and lack of decent communication with the patient.

Good doctor but very bad with patients
I spent 4 hours waiting and then had a quick 10 minute appointment. I was told I didn't take my condition seriously because I had to reschedule an appointment and was told to find a new doctor.

Excellent! Best eye doctor I have ever been to. I had cataract surgery on both my eyes and he had two measurements which he insisted on and my eyesight with my new lens is 20/20. He has three offices and the reason for the wait is that everyone wants to see him. I have always felt he had my eyesight as his first priority and am willing to wait as long as I have to.

Dr Harbour is in my opinion, the best at what he does , help people see. If it takes him longer to give the best, so be it. It’s not rocket science, you wait for the best. After all, seeing is a gift. Dr Harbour gives the gift of sight to so many.

Rude and Unprofessional. Nurse interrupted exam with news to check funny personal text. Dr Harbour said nothing to me and just got up and walked out of the room leaving me there for 30 minutes. He treats people rudely. I reciprocated and got up and told him I have a text to go check on and walked out. He thinks a patients time is not valuable and he can treat people any way he wants. You have been warned now. Go see him at your own risk.

Highly Disappointed and Insulted. – Oct 19, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Harbour?
Dr. Harbor is the smartest physician (of any discipline) I have encountered! While I do agree with some of the comments about excessive waits, I believe this to be a function of the amount of time he devotes to each patient, and the fact that his daily office schedule is often interrupted by emergency surgeries. If you need a routine vision exam, perhaps you skip the wait and go somewhere else. But if you or your family have a serious eye / vision problem, don't trust anyone else !!!

Dr. Harbour is unprofessional and rude in my opinion. He diagnosed my eye condition and after a few months of improvement, he told me that he was "no longer my doctor" and to see my other specialist. After a few months and some rescheduled appts. (BC I don't have 4 hours to sit and wait for him to look at his phone) I notified the office saying I will be finding a new Dr and then got a letter saying he is terminating our service because I'm "not serious" about my treatment. Not good experience.

IN A WORLD OF MEDIOCRITY Warning About Robert Harbour Wait times totally unacceptable! Rude un-empathetic tech, worthless! Harbour walked out of the building for the day leaving me sitting and having to return the next day. Many lost hours at work. Unprofessional as it gets!

I I first met Dr. Harbour in 1997 when he performed catarict surgery on my father. I was impressed with his professionalism and medical knowledge. No issues were noted after surgery on my fathers eyes. Recently I myself needed cataric surgery. However, I needed a specialized lens replacement in both eyes. I now have 20/20 vision with no noted issues. Dr. Harbour and his staff at the Center For Site receive 5 Stars from me.
