Does he still have 3 hour wait time in the waiting
zero stars. He should pay his patients by the hour for every hour they have to wait on him. We ditched this doctor many years ago. His wife is nasty and a harpie. No regard for his patients when they have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to see him. . His wife thinks he is the only qualified PCP on Staten Island. I could never recommend this doctor.

staff does not like doing there job and enjoy thinking of ridulous stories not to own up to there own errors and i find this awful since they are supposed to be there for us the patients in need, they should be embarressed how they treat others. which does not say much for themselves and there happy life. move on get help

very likely. He has been our doctor for 35 years
He takes the time to explain everything in detail so you know exactly what the problem is.

It’s sad that you can’t get an appointment to see him without his wife asking a thousand questions. Still as of today I can’t get an appointment with him. So I now am finding a new doctor where I can make an appointment with being questioned why and when I explain why that’s not really something you have to see the doctor for, that’s the answer I get.

He is thorough, straight forward and a well seasoned veteran. He will discuss your situation and suggest the best options for treatment. The clinical staff works hard to answer every phone call and address the endless repetitive questions . If you are looking to be pampered and snuggled then that’s a different story. He’s great at what he does and so is his staff, that’s why they have the volume of patients they do.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Lapenna since we moved to Staten Island in 2012. He is a great doctor. He has a nice bedside manner and he gets the job done very thoughtfully. True the wait is a little lengthy but I would rather wait and see a good doctor than to see a mediocre doctor within a hour. April Sessoms

Dr Lapenna is very knowledgeable but it's getting to the point where I am thinking of switching doctors because of the unacceptable waiting time. If you have an appointment and you are the 3rd person then how can i be there for over 2.5 hrs waiting. More than an hour of that in the room you are in waiting to see him. Then when I see him I'm there 15 minutes max.. Staff is also rude.

Dr. LaPenna is thorough, however, the wait of 3 plus hours is horrific. That is why I had to change doctors. I had to leave after waiting almost 2 hours because I would have been waiting another 2 hours. On average people wait 4 hours.

Dr. Lapenna is my Internist and I must say without a shadow of doubts, he rock's, his compassion is unmatchable, as a long term survivor of Lymphoma, if not for his excellence and expertise as one of the most skilled physician's I've ever met, my new secondary Cancer DX would have gone unforeseen. Recently having total thyroidectomy, not only am I blessed to have my Med team of Drs @Sloan Kettering....I give a big shoutout first and foremost Dr. Lapenna. HE SAVED MY LIFE!

This office is run so poorly I am surprised he still has patients. I have never been in the office with a wait time of under an hour, like the patient time is not important to him and my last visit that I had my 4 year old with me was almost 2 hour wait and if I did not have a serious chest infection I would have walked out. My last appointment sealed the deal for me to never go back, I sat in the exam room over 30 minutes listening to him socialize with a male patient in the room next to me
