I have been a patient of Dr Milam since 1972 and he has always had a very carrying and professional relationship with me and my late husband

Robert C Milam review including recent appointment
Dr. Milam is a highly knowledgeable physician who relates well with patients. As a 25-plus year patient of his, he's always provided top notch medical advice and procedural support, all while displaying a unique and enjoyable sense of humor. My recent appointment with him went rather well, as I've come to expect. I'm not an easy patient to please, but have always found I'm in good care under Dr. Milam.

Dr. Milam - Highly professional and cordial – Oct 26, 2024

Excellent doctor.
He has been my doctor for over 50 years. He helped me through my difficult childhood and teen years and beyond. He was great with my parents and my daughter. His sense of humor may not be for everyone but I get it. I'm not a huge fan of honor health since they make it less personal. My last visit I was fearful of getting bad news but he assured me it would be ok and it was.

Came in with jaw pain - wasn’t sure what it was, thought i would get it checked out for strep - Dr. Milam immediately said it wasn’t strep but gave me a prescription for antibiotics - not sure why? I didn’t have an infection - turned out to be tmw.

Horrible....just horrible
Very poor communicator. Doesn;t even introduce himself. I asked what tests he planned to run and he looked at me like I had two heads and sarcasticly said 'just the standard' and turned and walked out. He appears to be an old school provider that thinks the patient should be quiet and just accept his advice and decisions without question.

Worst experience with a medical "professional"
I made an appt with this Dr. because my PCP was on vacation and I was concerned about abnormal menstrual bleeding. He walks in, introduces himself and asks... are you working? I have no idea how that was relevant to my situation. Then, after I explained how I have felt due to abnormal, HEAVY bleeding for almost 3 weeks, he wants to prescribe a hormone to "make it stop," and mansplains how hormones and the uterus works. I have 4 kids, and have had my uterus for over 40 yrs... I understand how it all works. When I insist that he order an ultrasound, he says I'll put in the order, but "I bet you it's nothing." Turns out it WASN'T "nothing"... I had to have an outpatient surgery soon after that visit. Dr Milam is very condescending, dismissive and doesn't listen to his pts AT ALL. I was very upset with his service, in tears from frustration, and hope he doesn't treat all women this way. Avoid him if at all possible.

Will not see again
Didn’t introduce himself , and seemed like he needed a nap more than anything. Walked out of the room even as I asked him a question. His assistant appeared to be frustrated with him as well. Luckily he half listened and half did his job. Milam appears to be past his ability to doctor effectively. Will be looking for a different Dr.

I saw Dr Milam only because my primary care physician was on maternity leave. After the medical assistant checked my weight and blood pressure, she left the room to inform Dr Milam that I was ready to be seen and the medication I needed refilled. Very loudly he replied, “ I’m not prescribing her that!” I put my head down in disbelief. He then entered the room and asked me what I needed. Never shook my hand to introduce himself and did not provide any warmth of me feeling welcomed. He never apologized for basically spreading my medical information throughout the hallway or asked any discovery questions about my health. Instead he spoke over me and had an attitude about why I didn’t need the medication that I’ve been taking for years. Whenever I tried to have a discussion about myself and my medical history he spoke over me. Dr Milam never asked me how I was doing or how my current treatment has been working. Instead I over heard him telling another staff member that he was not going to

The doctor's solution to most medical issues is to "power through it". The staff is greedy and rude. I was regularly charged for "an outstanding balance" that none of them could explain, then they would apologize and say the were going to "wrote it off".....and I never did learn what the phantom charges were for. Trying to get a refill on prescription was the last straw....so I would like to thank the awful staff at honor health for pushing me to find my wonderful new doctor's office.
