Unbelievably terrible experience.
The purpose of my review is to hopefully prevent other patients from being treated like I was by this doctor on 5/15/23.I was referred to Russell to confirm I didn't have a staph or mrsa infection before surgery. I suspected that instead, it was a nasolabial cyst, and asked him if he was familiar with them.He wouldn't answer my question and instead went on to tell me that the newly developed, large mass in my face might just be something I've always had and didn't realize. He was willing to do a scan, but not before talking to me like I was the least cognitive person he's ever met. After some heated back and forth, I left with him following me and nearly yelling at me. Honestly, this might be the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. For the record, I was finally diagnosed with a nasolabial cyst by another doctor and will be having surgery soon.

Dismissive
My child's Pediatrician referred us to Dr. Russell thinking she needed her tonsils & annoids out. She couldn't breathe very well. He didn't even look at her he just told us she was too young to be in his office. We found a different ENT who gave her his time & while on the operation table discovered her tonsils were so large she had no room to let air through & her annoids 85% blocking her nasal passage. Not to mention I needed emergency surgery after Dr. Russell nicked an artery during my own tonsillectomy.

Does not treat the root of the problem
Front office staff was generically polite. Back office staff that we encountered were dismissive and interrupted as answers were being given. Dr. Russel seemed unaware of current research findings on the topics that he has his degree(s?) in. Overall I will never go back to this office an feel completely ripped off. This is a purely surgical practice, no whole body approach, and has an apparent lack of evidence based care models that do not involve surgery. Save yourself the copay and see someone else. This office does not look for the root of the problem and rather treats the symptoms by removing organs.

I woke up with swollen parodit glands approx 30 days ago. My glands stayed swollen for several weeks, which prompted several exams ordered by my PCP, including an ENT visit. All tests were ordered in an attempt to understand symptomology and rule out any serious biological illness. I brought a list of symptoms experienced within the last 30 days, in an attempt to have dialogue with Dr. Russell. I was talked over and felt belittled by Dr. Russell for pointing out my symptoms. Dr. Russell told me "cell phones" was a major problem in society, as if to imply I was stressed and this was the problem. He also told me to meditate and take a long vacation. I didn't quite understand his presentation. I wanted to feel good about the visit, but I left feeling a bit judged. I felt like Dr. Russell minimized what I was going through and presented with a lack of empathy. This was my second visit, I don't think I will return.

Rude. Does not listen. Misdiagnosed me. Ran expensive useless tests. His nurse diagnosed me with one question. I had bppv but Dr. Russell ran the expensive nonapplicable tests and vertigo got worse. Took 6 weeks to get it treated.

Neither Dr. Russell nor his staff seemed to have the time to actually hear about my health issues. He and his medical assistant repeatedly asked me about an old CT scan even though they had the written report. The doctor did not want my medical records from the past 5 years or so which is how long I have been trying to get treatment. He refused to listen and dismissed all my concerns and suggestions. He told me to increase my OTC med and come back in 2-3 months. He was no help whatsoever.

STAFF ORGANIZED AND DR. PERFORMED SURGERY AT AETNA OUT-OF-NETWORK IRELAND GROVE SURGERY CENTER!! They organized and performed my tonsil surgery at Ireland Grove Surgery Center. I have Aetna insurance. So, instead of the surgery being paid for because I had nearly reached my annual out-of-pocket, I now have approximately $3000.00 + toward non-networks! The bills keep rolling in from the surgery team. Amazingly, I had called all parties the day before surgery to confirm approvals. All said yes.

Dt. Russell has performed a tonsillectomy and bilateral Myringotomy (ear tubes) on all three of my children. We've had great results. He has always been professional and very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone.

I recently brought in my 4 year old daughter to see Dr. Russell about having her tonsils removed. He was kind, patient, professional, knowledgeable and very easy going to boot. He also removed my son's tonsil back in 2009 and was just as pleasant and professional. I am a nurse practitioner and have referred many patients to him and have never had a complaint.

Dr. Russell provides excellent care to his patients! I have known him since the early 1990's, and he has always given me practical, helpful advice. He recently solved a seasonal allergy problem which often left me with laryngitis that my family doctor had been messing with for over 20 years! He never offers to do extra procedures that you don't need (like some of the local ENT's do).

I have been a patients of his since 1997. He is very compassionate and truly cares about his patients. His front end staff are sometimes abrasive, but don't let that stop you from a very competent physician and surgeon.

Don't bother with this dr office. Never met the doctor. Rude staff person up front. Older lady so she should've known better. Never apologized for giving me the wrong directions. My appointment time came and went and she was calling back patients who came in after me, and after my asking each patient, my appointment was first. I asked the lady up front and she just walked off. I yelled that it was unacceptable to be like that and she got really chippy with me. wasted time!

I would not recommend Dr Russell. This was our very first visit. The staff was rude and inconsiderate. They were talking rudely about patients within ear shot of other patients, very unprofessional. When Dr Russell finally came into the room he never introduced himself, started examining my daughter, and then tried to leave without any explanation of information being given! I was amazed he said NOTHING! I felt the entire experience was unprofessional and lacked necessary communication!

Dr. Russell fixed my deviated septum. I had a really hard time breathing at night. As soon as the surgery was done even with the gauze over my nose I could breath so much better.

The first visit was very brief. Although it was a consultation about a tonsillectomy it wasn't very informative. He also did not mention taking my adnoids out which others have said would have been necessary. My second visit after my surgery, I waited in the waiting room for a half and hour after my appointment was scheduled because he was late.
