7 spinal surgeries
My first surgery was in 2003 and my latest was 2022 with five additional in between those years and Dr Shugart has been my surgeon for every surgery. His office and nurses have always been very knowledgeable and professional the wait times have always been minimal which was great. I can say with 100% confidence Dr Shugart is one of the best choices you could make when choosing a surgeon. I have 95 percent of my Lumbar fused and 2 levels in my neck and I still work 10 hour days.

Waste of time a money.
I have spinal sharp pain in cervical, thoracic and lumbar pain. He only ordered X-ray and mri on lumbar. I have loss bladder and pins needles in hands and both feet. He said instructions: Recheck as needed. ….yep? Shouldn’t our government protect us from money making businesses who are corrupt?!

As most I was apprehensive about back surgery. Dr. Shugart listened to my concerns and answered all questions I had. He put my mind at ease. I never waited long at my appointments, and the nurses and staff were friendly and helpful. The surgery went great and I thankful I chose Dr. Shugart. I would and will recommend him to anyone having spine issues.

Check in to the office was quick and easy. The staff during check in were friendly. The appointment started right on time and Dr. Shugart's nurse was very friendly and personable. Doc greeted me and asked questions relevant to my situation. He genuinely seems interested and answered all my questions. I did not feel rushed or like I was just a number but that he and the staff actually were there with me during my appointment. I would highly recommend Dr. Shugart at FWO. This is how medical appointments should be. Thank you Dr. Shugart/Staff and FWO.

This is about my sister and her experiences with Dr. Shugart. She was his patient and passed away a year ago. From the first time she dealt with him because of her horrific back pain he was cold and uncaring. I went with her to the last appt. and a year after her back surgery still could not walk. He NEVER looked at her or expressed any concern. In fact, her leg was extremely swollen and when she mentioned it he did not even turn away from his computer to look. The Nurse saw the swelling and had him order an ultrasound. She had a blood clot. The very next day that clot broke and she ended up dead.

I highly recommend Dr. Shugart. He is very friendly and easy to establish rapport with. He took the time to thoroughly explain what was causing all my back and leg pain and how he was going to correct the problem. Post-surgery care was also exceptional. He is very easy to ask questions of and makes sure you understand all responses.

After dealing with severe sciatic pain, I was referred to Dr. Shugart. Conservative routes (2 injections and PT) were attempted with no relief. Feb. 2017, I had a microdiscetomy and removal of bone spurs to relieve a pinched nerve. I did well for a short time, with returned symptoms. Due to an old fracture of L5, I had instability and had a L4-S1 fusion in Nov. 2017. Dr. Shugart truly listens and answers questions. His staff is top notch! I’m finally on the road to recovery!

UPDATE: After a month when all the drugs wore off the pain started to gradually come back, went through therapy, and tried a couple different pills he put me on with no success. I am now back where it was before the operation, sometime it's better to leave things the way they are, because surgery doesn't always take care of the problem.
