Waste of time not very educated.
His PA was a joke she just pretended to do a exam and act like she cared but like him they both had no clue why I was there and said I was cleared of any neurological disease. No really?? Hahaha I was there for. EMG not a MRI and he didn't even do the EMG test correctly he did only my left hand that took 10min that's a fabulous way of finding out if someone has muscle weakness hopefully I will have better luck with a second opinion and a muscle biopsy.

Dr Summerfield didn't listen well and was dismissive. It's almost as if he only takes the cases he can solve easily. Where's the growth mindset?

Dr Summerfield saw my mother for a visit at Tanner Clinc in February related to dementia; she had fallen less than a week before and had a large bruise on her forehead. Dr Summerfield didn't seem concerned or even suggest any scans. We found out later that she had a traumatic brain injury and died a few weeks after the diagnosis in April. It is possible that if we had gotten treatment she would still be alive. I would stay away from Dr Summerfield.

We found Dr. Summerfield to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable in diagnosis and treatment of MS in our son. He was able to get an appointment in about ten days, which is unheard of for neurologists in Utah. He got an MRI within minutes of the office visit, and consultation on diagnosis followed immediately. Needed infusions were started the next day, and they have resulted in drastic improvement in our son's ability to walk, use his arms, and become functional again in life.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Summerfield. I suffered a neurological complication after surgery and even though I am an RN I have had limited experience with peripheral nerve damage. Dr. Summerfield was both skilled and compassionate every time I saw him. I knew he cared about me! He actually called a neurosurgeon at the U of U and explained my case and that action subsequently expedited my care. I am now on the road to recovery! I am so grateful he went went the extra mile for me!

Dr. Summerfield was so caring and listened to my concerns. I had seen 2 ER doctors and an urgent care doctor before I saw him. They were quick to brush off my symptoms, but Dr. Summerfield actually took the time to educate me on what was going on with my condition. He and his medical assistant are so quick to return my phone calls and help while I am recovering. I would recommend him to anyone!!

I had been diagnosed with MS 25 years ago. I had been going to SLC for years and had wanted to find a neurologist closer to home. I have seen 6 neurologists over this period. This doctor did not even perform the basic 'squeeze my hands' or 'follow my finger with your eyes' basic basic basic exam. No attempt to even fake an exam. Weirdest experience ever with a physician, especially considering he is a 'specialist'. Keep on driving to SLC...

I went in to see Dr. Summerfield with a very rare neurological disorder. He spent the time to sit down and figure out what the issues were and listened to me rattle off the bizarre symptoms I was experiencing. He then helped trouble shoot the problem. I was thrilled to get a correct diagnosis after three years of wrong diagnosis from other places.

Total waste of time. He didn't seem to believe me about my symptoms, he didn't review the MRI I went for him to review and after the fact billed me an additional $138.00 for absolutely nothing. I was very clear about asking about the charges before and at the time of the appointment. The person answering the phone told me $105.00 for the visit, I verified again at the time of the visit the price. Then after the fact bill me another $138.00 FOR NOTHING! Billing department was rude.

6 Months ago he was awesome. With the arrival of his new PA suddenly they only want to see patients with major neurological diseases like ms. Save yourself the time and extra money and just go somewhere else. Because they or should I say his PA will just now say we do not do that here after you have been seeing him for over a year for the same problem. Then she will refer you to someone else and not actually do it, and Dr. Summerfield just back her up and doesn't even say much to you.
