Saved my husbands life - parotid gland cancer
I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Wong for exceptional care he provided to my husband during a critical time. He has unwavering dedication and is a true perfectionist whose sole priority is the health and well being of his patients. When my family member’s life was on the line I could not have asked for a more skilled and committed physician. He may not focus on building rapport or catering to trends, but his approach is no-nonsense but still deeply compassionate when it counts. Thank you Dr. Wong for your knowledge, expertise and willingness to dedicate your life to helping others. My husband and I are incredibly grateful.

Waste of Education.
Don’t be fooled. The office staff mislead. Office has their own rules which do not comply with medicare. Seems this doctor cherry picks cases, wants your primary to do all the work and then come along to provide a simple second opinion. They received a referral but wanted diagnosis and complete case handed to them on a silver plater. Mind you, in my case no referral is required by Insurance company. Don’t waste your time. He may be head of the department at UNLV but he certainly doesn’t train his staff or doctors to care about the patient.

Constant Cancelations
I was very disappointed to be turned away after almost an hour of waiting on my first appt in November, just to be reschedule to January, and now that appt is canceled until February.

They have a super busy office and too many needing patients. Wait time can be horrendous. You often cant get a response when you call. But they care and are good at what they do.

Dr. Wang is excellent. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I do not feel rushed during appointments. However, the office is run very poorly. Staff does not call back as promised. It’s impossible to speak to anyone except a scheduler directly on the phone. They leave internal messages for each other, but my experience is they do not call back. Staff also makes mistakes ordering tests. It took 2 visits, 2-3 months apart (because dr is so busy) to have his staff order the correct tests. Dr had them correctly indicated since my first visit. I don’t know if staff is under trained or have too much work, but I have to prepare myself for a nasty person every time I call. If I wasn’t toward the end of my journey with my surgery, I would definitely go elsewhere. He’s good, but having to call his office and beg staff to help you (and not just send internal messages) is just too much for me.

I had tongue cancer and my oncologist referred me to him. No other doctor seemed to know much about tongue cancer except him. I am very impressed with his knowledge and I totally trust him. He treated me with surgery and he is well known at the hospitals as an excellent surgeon. It is a long wait to see him because he is the best but I just go to the caferteria and they call me on my cell. He is worth the wait!

Dr. Wong has an excellent reputation as a surgeon. HOWEVER, has no respect or consideration for his patients time. I have been a patient for appx 6-7 years. The average wait is 3.5 hours. Today, approximately 5 hours. Staff schedules appointments and then reschedules the same appt. 3-5 times before you see the physician. I had an original appt in May--finally arrived today but left after 3.5 hours when I was told wait could be an additional two. I will seek care elsewhere.

I am changing my rating of Dr Wang. I received a phone response after sending an email to him about the problems I experienced with the office staff. I’m very impressed. It is refreshing to know that he read it and had someone follow up for him.

Dr Wang removed my thyroid and 14 lymph nodes. He did amazing. However. His support staff is not! Wait times are totally unreasonable. I waited 3 hours for my post op appointment. After having blood work done to determine levels I could get no one to respond. I don’t know if it is the staff or him but after ten days of calling, telling them how horrid I was feeling I got no response. Totally unacceptable. My levels were 4x above normal and no one cared. I am now having my primary care doc!

Dr. Wang removed my thyroid and is an amazing surgeon. He may not smile often but he is very thorough and knows what he's doing. I would recommend him to anyone. In a city where healthcare ranks low...Dr. Wang is one of the best doctors that I've had the benefit of having taking care of my ENT issues.

I brought my son to him based on a recommendation. He has a very short, demeaning attitude. I was treating him with respect and answering his question based on my experience and he treated me as if I was an intern and was curt and rude in front of my son and an intern. There was no need for his attitude. The staff, however, was very pleasant.

Dr. Wang is an outstanding physician. I appreciate his no nonsense approach. Without a doubt he takes the practice of medicine seriously and can back it up in practice. He has performed surgery on both my wife and I. I wouldn't want to use anyone else. Nor should you. Jim T.
