Wonderful doctor. He’s been our son’s Dr at the general pediatrics since he was admitted from ER. Very knowledgeable and straight to the point. Has a kind of thick accent so I had a little trouble understanding what he said but he is very clear and concise. Wonderful!

Bad doctor
I had a disappointing experience with this doctor. The wait time was excessively long, and when we were finally attended to, he handled my child roughly, grabbing her arm in an inappropriate manner. His demeanor came across as egocentric and arrogant, giving the impression that he is more concerned with financial gain than the well-being of his young patients. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this doctor, and I suggest seeking care from a different provider if he is assigned to you.

Heaven Sent
My special needs child has been a patient since birth. Yes the wait used to be long but it was worth it. Now the wait is very short. I have tried other pediatricians but immediately come back to Dr. Canales, I have yet to find a dr as caring and detailed as he is. When my child had tendon surgery, even though he wasn't the surgeon, he would still go to the hospital to check on her. This man is heaven sent.

The local people in El Paso think this guy is a savior. He's rude, arrogant and not a good clinician. Wait times are ridiculous. Go to El Paso Pediatrics.

To all the people that complain..he is one of the Best Doctor I've ever known, it's impossible to cure everyone and also there's a lot lack of common sense among people.. He is a savior sent from heaven and he will do everything to save a life but sometimes God has the final word. My respects to this intelligent, humble and professional person..

This guy has no bedside manner, gave us a bullcrap diagnosis, his waiting room is disgusting, the wait time was 1.5 hours past our appointment time, and the patient rooms were not cleaned between patients (i.e exam table paper not changed). He seems like the kind of doctor that looks at your kid and sees dollar signs rather than a child in need of a doctor. Don't waste your time.

Yes, you may end up staying for a long period of time at Dr Canales office but it is all worth it.! My baby has been surviving thanks to God and him.! My baby with a vacterl syndrome and GERD condition has been doing better each day. Of course little by little but hey she is alive! and that is what matters.! Thank you Dr. Canales for letting yourself be used by the hand of God.! P.s. write your questions in a paper and give them to canales in his hands.!

Sad that my insurance pays them to ignore my phone calls. They never answer their phones. Wait is over 3hours. I waited one night for over 5hours. Not worth it. He's too impatient and will leave quickly without answering your questions. Worst experience ever.. Staff is also rude like him. Wish I had good treatment like others here. Lobby and restrooms are always dirty too... Atleast when I go they are. That's the honest truth....

Dr Canales works with Pedi Oncology at Providence Hospital. As one of Dr Canales' pedi oncology patients, I can say without a doubt in my mind, I wouldn't be alive today without Dr Canales. He took me from a dieing cancer patient to a cancer free college student getting her nursing license to one day work with him in Jungleville at Providence. He devotes his life to us. He works day and night, fighting along side us. 500 words are not enough to explain the love and respect I have for this man??
