I bumped into a broken clay flower pot in my yard, & cut the back of my leg in the calf. Because I am on a blood thinner, and was bleeding very badly, I wrapped my leg in a large bandage, & drove myself to the nearest Urgent Care(Islamorada Medical). I was admitted, taken to a room, then waited an hour & a half, still bleeding, before Dr. Leoni came in & examined me. He told me he could not stitch me up because he could hit a blood vessel. Instead he sent me to the emergency room at the local hospital. I was stitched up there, and wished I had gone there first, but instead, I was bleeding so terribly I went to the closest urgent medical facility. After 10 days the Medical Center called me to come in for a follow-up. I asked for what? I was told they could"remove the stitches". Unbelievable! No thanks. I had bled terribly, & was getting concerned because the bleeding did not stop while I waited 1.5 hrs. No stitches put in, but they wanted to take them out! Unreal.
